MHA Legislative Update

With the primary election now completed, the November general election is critical to ensuring the voices of Michigan hospitals, patients and communities are heard. As a health care leader, your active involvement over the coming weeks is essential to help elect the candidates who will best support health care in Lansing and Washington, DC. This year, Michigan voters will elect one U.S. Senator, all 14 U.S. House of Representative seats, the Governor, the Attorney General, the Secretary of State, all 38 Michigan Senate seats, all 110 Michigan House of Representative seats, and three of the seven state Supreme Court justices. In the 2010 gubernatorial election, only 43% of Michigan's registered voters participated in the general election. Your vote can make a significant difference to the future of healthcare in Michigan, so please be sure to make your voice heard. The last day to register for the 2014 general election taking place on Nov. 4 is Oct. 6. Have Something You Would Like to Share?
Members, if you have a volunteer program or topic that you would like me to share with the group as a feature in the newsletter, please do not hesitate to contact me. We all know how difficult it is to be out of the office to attend conferences and educational days. This will give us an opportunity to network and update each other on what's new or working well in our facilities.

Respectfully,
