GETTING OUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT

The world continues to change with people doing this and that, living their lives, having relationships come and go, raising families, and so on... And yet the one thing that many people still are not changing is that all too often they are not making their spiritual path the single, most important thing in their life. Our spiritual path should be the center of our life, around which all else revolves. What else could possibly matter? Instead, people still do very little for themselves--spiritually. This is even true for those of us who think we are "on the spiritual path." We might say we are "spiritual people" or are on the spiritual path, and yet we still don't make it a priority to attend a spiritual center every weekend OR practice tithing OR see a healer/counselor on a regular basis.

A gardener has a lot of gardening tools and is in their garden every week. And if they neglect their garden, they will pay the price with weeds and so forth. And a gardener knows that if the weeds get out of hand, it probably won't help to blame their neighbors for it. The gardener also knows that if the wrong crop comes up, they must have planted the wrong seeds. A responsible gardener knows that they will reap exactly what they have sown--no more, no less.

We too need to take better care and responsibility for our lives. It's up to us to show-up, do our work, use the right tools, maintain our lives, and do our best to make this year's crops better than the last. We must see to it that our awareness and practice of things, like love and forgiveness, gets better nearly every day. We should also make it a point to see more and more beauty and goodness in the world and in people. And, last but not least, we must make it our first priority to feel closer to God in every way possible. People will watch t.v. for several hours per day OR spend an hour at the gym OR enjoy big dinners OR spend plenty of time texting or chatting on their phone. They do not spend nearly as much time in prayer and meditation OR feeding their soul by reading the best spiritual material OR attending a church or spiritual center. The Book of Revelation refers to such people as lukewarm and essentially worthless--spiritually.

I have spent the better part of the last 35 years helping people to improve their lives. I also have been called upon to assist churches and spiritual centers to become a little more like Unity of Sedona--where I serve a the Spiritual Leader. Some take my advise, empty themselves of the past, and prepare for a new direction--a direction more closely aligned with Spirit. But others remain stuck, afraid, and ego-directed. The first of these groups are very inspiring and makes my heart swell with gratitude. But when it comes to the latter of these groups, Jesus advised, "Shake the dust off of your sandals and walk away." So I too tend to turn around and walk away when it becomes all too evident that the person or group before me has no real commitment to achieving a new life. This is why people sometimes see me not returning to a particular town or church.

It's not just churches, however, that function with such hypocrisy. Statistics show that newcomers that attend a church, do so far more often when they are struggling with financial or relationship problems than when they are doing well. And although some people practice tithing when they have very little to give, they often no longer practice tithing if they suddenly sell a home or win the lottery. The same goes for those having relationship problems. It usually happens that if a person is attending a church but longing for a new partner, they tend to stop attending once they find the new partner they were praying for. In doing so, we are treating our creator like a trip to the store. Once we get what we want, we take off. This is old story of people ignoring God for a great portion of their lives but attempting to find God on their "death bed" or when they are "down on their luck." This is both humorous and tragic. It's as though we think we can bargain with God or somehow fool God into thinking we are good and faithful people but then end up betraying our commitment and tossing it out as soon as we think "something better" has come along.

But not everyone is like this. Those who really impress me and warm my heart, are those who have their priorities straight and practice what they preach. There are no shortage of such examples of good, dedicated people. In just the last few months, I am seeing so many friends and clients choosing to open up to a new life. Many are choosing to demonstrate their love, support, and gratitude by making donations. Others are choosing to share their love and support through social media or listening to my free blog shows or tele-summits. One individual (from California) sent a donation to assist with our new sanctuary art. A group of dear friends/students (from the Northeast) donated a brand new sound-system to Unity of Sedona. And I've noticed more and more attendees making it a point to show up more consistently to our events (church services and workshops all around the country). These are the people who are truly on the spiritual path. They are not merely reading books and talking the talk. They are living the Christ life. And it's people like these who are "storing up treasures in Heaven," which means "awakening higher levels of God's Consciousness."

BOOKS BY MICHAEL MIRDAD

Creating Fulfilling Relationships

Relationships are at the core of all that we experience in this world. Every thought, feeling, word, and action is motivated by our relationship with God, ourselves, and others. Not a typical book on relationships, this book is about making all relationships (not just partnerships) healthy and fulfilling. It's about being centered in our True Self, committing to self-healing, and sharing fulfilling relationships with others. The more we nurture and experience deep, authentic, fulfilling relationships, the happier we will be. Topics include: The Three Stages of Relationships; Developing a relationship with the Divine Masculine & Feminine;  Responsibility & Self-Awareness; Healthy Boundaries; Relation-ship vs. Relation-shit; Enhancing Communication; Intimacy & Affection; What is Love?; Soul Mates & Twin Souls.

Healing the Heart & Soul Healing bookcover
Healing the Heart & Soul offers the essential ingredients for personal, life transformation, as well as providing a deeper understanding as to why some people don't seem to heal. It also covers the roles of forgiveness, mirroring, and miracles in relation to healing. Then it shares the specific technique of the five-step, Soul-Level Healing Process that will, in nearly every case, uncover the "real" cause (or causes) hidden behind any particular challenge or problem (physical, emotional, mental, financial, and even within relationships), thus making room for true transformation and healing. Soul-Level Healing can be defined as "a two-part process of Emptying one's cup of faulty belief systems AND Refilling this cup with new, healthy, and loving belief systems."

You're Not Going Crazy...You're Just Waking Up! book11
In this book Michael Mirdad explains why the challenges in your life (and in your heart) may make you feel as though you're "going crazy." The Five Stages of the Soul Transformation Process guide you through such challenges (including the "dark night of the soul") and lead you to the "Light at the end of the tunnel," wherein you gain a new perspective of your life, yourself, and your purpose. The Soul Transformation Process includes: 1) Dismantling, 2) Emptiness, 3) Disorientation, 4) Re-building, and 5) A New Life. This process assists you in rising to new levels of spiritual mastery, wherein you become an active participant in Re-building a New Life, a life that resonates with your Highest Good and is described in A Course in Miracles as, "A future . . . without a trace of sorrow, and with joy that constantly increases."
