Mitchell Associates Contributes to the Mutual Aid Blog
We appreciate the work that Fire Chief Magazine does to keep the fire fighting community aware of the latest and best innovations, services and products, and have enjoyed contributing to their publications several times. We recently contributed to the Mutual Aid blog post by editor Janet Wilmoth on the topic of utilizing solar energy in fire station design. This is a topic that we are well-versed in, as Bob Mitchell has been involved in the solar energy movement for over 35 years.
Additionally, through Fire Chief we authored the chapter on fire station renovation for the IAFC Foundation's Fire Station Design Manual. You can purchase a copy by following the link on the side of this newsletter.
Trade Show Season Approaches
We will be exhibiting and presenting at several trade shows again this year, as is our tradition. The convention season kicks off at the end of this month in Phoenix at the Station Style Conference, where we will be presenting on energy efficient station design. Take a look at our trade show schedule to see where we'll be this year. We hope to see you there.
New Projects
Here are a few of our current projects:
Schematic design has been completed for a new 18,950 square foot station for the Lancaster, PA Township Fire Department. The Department provides fire, heavy rescue and water rescue in response to 600 calls a year with a volunteer membership of 50.

We have teamed again with Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc., as firematic consultant to them on the design of the Sandwich, MA Public Safety Facility. The 56,000 square foot station will serve the fire and police departments.
We're enjoying the spring weather and hope this newsletter finds you in good health and cheer. Keep in touch!
