Quote of the Month

Animals give me more pleasure through the viewfinder of a camera than they ever did in the crosshairs of a gunsight.  And after I've finished "shooting," my unharmed victims are still around for others to enjoy.  I have developed a deep respect for animals.  I consider them fellow living creatures with certain rights that should not be violated any more than those of humans.

OUR ORPHAN

OF THE MONTH

"Violet"

Hi, my name is Violet!  I am a beautiful Shepherd mix,

and I am about three and a half months old!

Violet was born on 11 Jan 2013 and were rescued by ELPO from a home in a dangerous part of South Dallas.

The woman, who has the mother, is a big hearted rescuer who needed help finding homes for Violet and her five siblings. The pups were in an area where free-roaming dogs could have easy access and predation was likely, not to mention being at high risk for distemper and parvo.

Since they came to East Lake, they have enjoyed all the comforts of being indoors.  So much different than living in the elements without any shelter.

The good news is that all her sibings have gone to their new "forever" homes!  Violet is still waiting for hers!  Won't you come by and say Hello to Violet?  You may just be her forever!

(You won't be rescuing her....she will steal your heart...and she will rescue you!)

A little information about our orphans and some of what is included in our adoption fees:

All our orphans are in the best of health when they are ready for adoption, have been spayed or neutered, are up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, microchiped, registered with Home Again and given flea and heartworm preventatives up to the point of adoption.

In the first 30 days after adoption we offer a free physical examination, nutritional assessment and wellness consultation to help make sure that the new adoptee has the best start in life in their new home!

For those adopting puppies or kittens, they also get a 20% discount on vaccines to get them through their first year of life

Visit this orphan in person and complete your adoption application between now and May 26, 2013 to be able to take advantage of this great offer!

Visit us on-line or call 214-349-ELPO(3576) for more information on all our wonderful animals available for adoption!

As our Orphan of the Month for April, you can adopt Violet at 20% off of the regular $165 adoption donation for canines.

"Local Heros"

Janine Pardon and Rod Rodriguez and "Pink"

Local fire fighter heros, Janine Pardon and Rod Rodriguez rescued this adorable boxer/terrier mix from traffic on Buckner this month.
The two said that they just couldn't leave the helpless pup there and that they had to intervene as they watched cars speeding by.

The puppy arrived at East Lake with multiple bruises and cuts and punctures, but her tail never stopped wagging!

She is truly happy to be alive and grateful to her rescuers.
She is a little over three months old, doing well and available for adoption here at East Lake!

Come see "Pink" and find that love connection!
