MEET
OUR ORPHAN
OF THE MONTH
"Bruno"
Hi! My name is Bruno !
Bruno, a 17 lb mini-boxer mix who will be a year old in November, came to us as a pull from an area animal shelter to keep him from being euthanized. When he first arrived, he was scared, shy, and very worried about what was going to happen to him next.
As we worked with him and shared all of the love and care we have to give, Bruno came out of his shell and now is happy and excited to greet the world each and every day.
He loves to play with anything and everything and can't wait to give hugs and kisses to all he meets.
As our Orphan of the Month for October, you can adopt Alex at 20% off of the regular $165 adoption donation for canines.
Visit this orphan in person and complete your adoption application between now and November 5, 2012 to be able to take advantage of this great offer!
Visit us on-line or call 214-349-ELPO(3576) for more information on all our wonderful animals available for adoption! |
MEET
OUR ORPHAN
OF THE MONTH
"Dana"
Hi! My name is Dana !
Dana, a sweet grey tabby kitten born in June of this year, was rescued by a good Samaritan after she had been attacked and her ear nearly ripped off.
Dana's ear had become infected and was not able to be saved, and so she only has one good ear to hear from.
The attack and infection also damaged her sight on that same side, so she is only able to see from her other eye.
In spite of her experiences, Dana is a sweet, loving kitten who purrs any time someone shows her affection.
Due to her sensory deficits, she is easily startled, but once she knows you are there, she is happy to share her love!
Come visit Dana today!
As our Orphan of the Month for October, you can adopt Rooster at 20% off of the regular $135 adoption donation for felines.
Visit this orphan in person and complete your adoption application between now and November 5, 2012 to be able to take advantage of this great offer!
Visit us on-line or call 214-349-ELPO(3576) for more information on all our wonderful animals available for adoption! |
"Scott & Hunter"
To Tweet or not to Tweet?
Meet Scout and Hunter.
Liz, an ELPO volunteer, was at Petco for one of our offsite events. She took pictures of our orphans and always tweets about them. She had tweeted about another orphan, Mercedes.
One of her followers contacted her to ask where Mercedes was and she told him to go to the orphanage and check her out!
While Mercedes was not adopted, he did go home with Ratliff and Whitten (who are now named Scott and Hunter).
They are two of our vizsla mix pups, and
"as snug as two little brother bugs in a rug".
Thanks to all who Tweet or Facebook!
Please keep up the good work!

These remarkable girls are from the Lakehill Girl Scout Troop #2444 in Dallas. They spent their Saturday, 9/22/12, rotating in and out of assisting with surgery and recovery for nine puppies and two kittens. All the girls are Cadets working on their Silver Award. They have made blankets for all the orphans here at East Lake Pet Orphanage. They are also volunteering at offsite adoption events on a determined mission to find forever homes for all the ophans that they helped. They only have a few left to find that love connection! Megahertz Technology
East Lake Pet Orphanage would like to introduce you to the Hopper family, owners and operators of Megahertz Technology. They have been supplying ELPO with walkie talkies for years and have supported the care of many orphanage pets. Most recently, the Hopper family has donated a new incubator so that East Lake can continue it's work in caring for orphaned, injured wild birds.
Megahertz is the Oldest and Most Experienced Two Way Radio Dealer In Dallas, TX.
Megahertz has been in the radio business for over 30 years. Whether your company's two way needs are large or small, they can provide an affordable solution that works.
The FCC has mandated that all public safety and business radio users to convert existing 25 kHz radio systems to minimum narrowband 12.5 kHz efficiency technology by January 1, 2013. The purpose of the narrowband mandate is to promote more efficient use of the VHF and UHF land mobile frequency bands. Many systems are already in compliance, but many are not. A migration is necessary before 2013 and if you fail to meet the deadline you could face severe penalties from the FCC and possibly loss of communications.
Megahertz states that now is the time to start planning.
Many companies are using this transition as an opportunity to embrace new digital radio technology
Call them and they can help you or your business maintain FCC compliance without a last minute rush..

State Farm
CASH FOR QUOTES Donations
Benefiting
East Lake Pet Orphanage
State Farm's "Cash for Quotes" program has provided referral incentives in the form of a State Farm gift card to people who refer their friends and family.
State Farm Agent, Linda Horton and her staff love animals, and have decided it would be more worthwhile to donate money to worthy animal charities when they receive a referral.
Linda's agency would like to make a donation to ELPO each time someone receives an auto/home/life quote and designates East Lake Pet Orphanage as the donation recipient. (Leads must meet certain qualifications to be eligible for the "Cash for Quotes" program.)
There would be no obligation to purchase insurance, just a willingness to give some information so that they can prepare the quote.
Lake Pet Orphanage donations can be earned by contacting friends, family and neighbors to see if Linda Horton State Farm can help them with their insurance needs. program to benefit animal-related charities in our area. Quotes can be given over the phone, or can come in to meet with Linda for a FREE insurance and financial review.
Linda Horton State Farm will pay $10 per qualified household who receives a quote from us. Those who are not interested in a quote on auto or home may receive a life insurance quote only. An additional $5 will be donated for every life insurance policy they write.
Call Linda's agency for a quote and help our orphans at the same time!
