The past doesn't make sense until we get to our future, but God doesn't waste a hurt. He takes our past and turns it into a promise.
When your life is dark, pray for threads of hope. One thread by itself doesn't seem like much, but as you meditate on each promise, the threads twist and braid into a strong assurance. Eventually, your threads of hope become a rope of hope.
If you really care for someone, you won't control them. You'll love them even when they do things you don't agree with. Yes, even when they sin. You can accept them as a person without endorsing their behavior. People repent when their eyes are opened by God, not man.
Turn your offenses into fences. We we fail to establish healthy boundaries we allow others to continually violate us. It's not always their fault. Sometimes we tolerate too much. It's twisted Christianity when we think we should let others walk all over us. |

| Hey Friend, |
I made a new friend yesterday. Lisa is a woman that walks in the grace of God each day. She HAS to. She has endured a four-year battle with her daughter's recovery after a ski accident that left her near death several times and yet...she radiates! I can't imagine the challenges and fears she's faced. She couldn't do it without God's grace. The reality is, neither can we. You may not have faced such devastation, and I hope you never do, but the truth is, we all need His grace. How do we make sure we have enough? Can we store it up? Can we hoard it so that when we need it we have an adequate supply? That's what we'll explore in today's devotional. I hope it inspires you on your own journey. I'd love for you to follow me on Facebook. I post daily tidbits of faith, sure to keep you inspired on your pathway to glory. Praying that 2 013 will be more than you've ever dreamed possible! |

Can You Hoard Grace? | |
Have you ever seen others walking through tragedies or difficulties with the undeniable power of God and thought to yourself, There's no way I could do that or I hope that never happens to me, because they have strength I don't have? I've had thoughts like that, but here's the deal....If you're not in their shoes, you DON'T have the strength to face what they're facing. Until you are faced with the same issue, you CAN'T handle it.
God equips you with His grace and strength when you need it, not before hand. Grace is a lot like the manna God gave the Israelites to feed them in the desert. Manna was a supernatural provision of bread God provided every morning to feed His people, but they still had to go out and gather it. Some gathered much and some gathered little, but when it was measured, he who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little. Each one had as much as he needed (Exodus 16:18). That's how His grace works, too. No matter how much you get, it's always exactly the right amount. It's never too much and it's never too little.
But check this out: Manna can spoil. When the Israelites gathered too much and tried to save the leftovers for the next day, in the morning it was full of maggots and began to smell (Exodus 16:20).
Hmm... I think God is trying to say something here. He wants us to depend on Him daily. He doesn't want us to hoard what we need. In order to be good, manna has to be fresh. That begs the question: Can grace can spoil too?
Make it a group or family discussion!

| American Bible Challenge |
It was such a great experience auditioning for American Bible Challenge. Many of you have asked if my team made the show and at this point, the answer is no. I hate to dedicate an entire block of my newsletter to defeat. Instead, I want to encourage you to watch the show! It is awesome! I'm thrilled that it has been Game Show Network's most popular show ranking above Smarter Than a Fifth Grader! It airs on GSN. Click the pic for more details. |
