You're invited to attend the
2016 Irish Community Picnic
Sunday, July 17, Noon - 6 pm
at Lake Sammamish State Park, Issaquah
The Park's Kitchen Shelter Picnic Area has been reserved for our use from Morning until Dusk. Bring your family and friends - all will be very welcome.
Hot-dogs and hamburgers will be provided for free, but please bring any other types of food you want, main dishes, side dishes, etc., along with your own beverages and we suggest a potluck dessert to be shared by all.
Alcoholic beverages are permitted in the picnic area.
There are several charcoal BBQ grills available for cooking food other than the provided hot-dogs and hamburgers. There are more than 20 picnic tables with some inside the shelter. Sunset Beach on Lake Washington is located 200 yards from our picnic area (see map below). There's parking in our reserved area for about 60 cars with more parking available in an adjacent lot. No park entrance fee for those with a Discover Pass, $10 per automobile for all others.
A Seattle Gaels Hurling game starts at 1:00 pm and that will be followed by a Gaelic Football game. Simultaneously, kids can also try their hand playing Hurling, Camogie and Gaelic Football. Around 3 pm we'll start the other games for young and old alike:
Sack-races
3-legged races
Tug o' war
Straw search
Water balloon toss
It's going to be a fun day for the entire family!
Some seats at picnic tables inside the Kitchen Shelter will be reserved for the use of seniors and the sun-averse! To reserve a table call 425-582-2688.
A Seattle-area Irish Picnic has been held annually for over 100 years.
