Leo Costello, RIP
October 28, 1932 - March 31, 2016
Leo Costello, 83, passed away in Kirkland on Friday, March 31. His Funeral Mass in this coming Saturday, April 9, at 10 am at St. John Vianney Church, 12600 84th Ave NE, Kirkland.
Leo has been heavily involved in promoting Irish community activities in the Seattle area for almost 50 years. He comes from a solidly Irish background with two of his grandparents being born in Croagh, Co. Limerick. They came to the Seattle area in the 1870s and raised a family of 11 children in the area called O'Brien, now part of Kent.
Leo was always very proud of his Irish heritage and is a Past-President of the Society of the Friends of St. Patrick, is an active member of the Irish Heritage Club, and is also involved in the Knights of Columbus and several other Catholic organizations. In 2010, he and Carol were the Honorary Grand Marshals of Seattle's St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Leo is survived by his wife Carol, brother John, sister-in-law Mary Jo Costello, brother-in-law Doug (and Michele) Axelson, and a host of other Costello nieces, nephews and cousins in the Seattle area, in addition to a wide circle of friends.
A warm and generous and genuinely caring friend to many people, Leo will be greatly missed.

May his faithful soul be at the right hand of God
