QANTAS OPENS NEW FIRST LOUNGE IN LOS ANGELES
 Qantas have opened their new First Lounge in Los Angeles, offering Qantas customers a spacious and luxurious space to dine, relax, work and socialise.
This lounge is Qantas' first overseas "Qantas First Lounge" and the design is based on the flagship multi-award winning Qantas First Lounges in Sydney and Melbourne.
The new Qantas First Lounge in Los Angeles features:
- Seating for more than 200 customers including a 74 seat a la carte restaurant
- A 14.6m long Carrara marble bar and open kitchen
- Los Angeles' first Neil Perry restaurant
- Premium Australian and Californian wines, signature cocktails, champagne, iced teas and a full barista service
- An atrium area providing natural light with lounge seating for relaxing
- Private work suites, TVs, faster Wi-Fi, wireless printing capabilities and shower suites with Aurora Spa ASPAR products
- Signature Sofitel service offered to customers travelling in First Class, including dedicated check-in, fast track immigration and dedicated boarding.

QANTAS VALET - STAY UP TO 10 DAYS AND PAY FOR 3 DAYS
Qantas Valet has a special offer for all Qantas customers travelling during January. Effective immediately, Qantas customers can park at Qantas Valet for up to 10 days and only pay for 3 days. Qantas Valet special offer is valid in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth until 26 January 2015. |

INDONESIAN VISA REQUIREMENTS
 Effective immediately, the visa onboard facility has been withdrawn on all Garuda flights from Australia to Indonesia.
Visas will still be issued upon arrival into Denpasar or Jakarta at a fee of US$35 per person.

JAPAN'S ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS PLANNING TO RETURN TO SYDNEY
 Speculation mounts that All Nippon Airways will resume flying on the Sydney-Tokyo route after a long absence.
ANA last operated flights to Sydney in July 1999. According reports by Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun, the flights would operate from Haneda Airport.
ANA is a member of Star Alliance and its fleet includes the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft which is rumoured to fly the Sydney-Tokyo route. |

ETIHAD NEW CODESHARE WITH AEROLINEAS ARGENTINAS
 Etihad Airways has announced a codeshare partnership with Aerolineas Argentinas.
Effective from 01 February 2015, the Etihad Code will be placed on Aerolineas Argentinas domestic and regional flights over the airlines Buenos Aires hub. At this stage, Etihad does not offer flights to Buenos Aires. The airline's only port in South America is Brazil's Sao Paulo.
Etihad passengers will be able to travel on Etihad Airways marketed flights to Buenos Aires and from there to 20 destinations within South America including: Asuncion, Bariloche, Bahia Blanca, Comodoro Rivadavia, Cordoba, El Calafate, Iguazú, Mar del Plata, Mendoza, Montevideo, Neuquén, Rio Gallegos, Rio Grande, Rosario, Salta, San Juan, Santiago de Chile, Trelew, Tucuman and Ushuaia.
Flights under this new codeshare agreement can be booked from mid-January 2015. |
SKYTRANS CEASES OPERATION
 Skytrans, Queensland regional carrier, ended operations on Friday 02 January 2015 after 25 years of operation in North Queensland. This decision was due to tough market conditions and an "inevitable price war" with New South Wales based carrier Regional Express.
Skytrans managing director Simon Wild said that decision, coupled with a falling Australian dollar meant the airline was no longer viable.
Furthermore Mr Wild said that other airlines entering its long-standing monopol market, a contraction of the charter market, an increase in airport and landing fees as well as the fall of the Australian dollar all contributed to the decision to cease operation.
Skytrans passengers, who have flights booked with the airline are advised to contact their travel insurance providers or seek a chargeback through their credit card company. |
