QANTAS PUBLISHES NEW HOBART SCHEDULE
Qantas has published a new schedule for its Hobart services, to be operated by QantasLink's upgraded Boeing 717 jets with a Business cabin and inflight entertainment for all passengers.
The new schedule is effective for travel from:
- 15 April 2014 for Sydney-Hobart
- 1 June 2014 for Melbourne-Hobart
The new schedule has been designed to suit customers travelling for both business and leisure, with a key benefit being an increase in the number of services between Hobart and Melbourne - from three to four per day. Customers will also enjoy improved connections to Qantas' large domestic network, as well as to Qantas International services from Melbourne and Sydney.
The upgraded 110-seat B717 jets which will operate between Hobart and mainland Australia have the size and configuration ideally suited to these routes. Customers will experience an exceptional onboard product including:- Class-leading seats in Business
- iPad tablet entertainment for every passenger in both Business and Economy
- A premium food and beverage offering
This ongoing investment in the airline's fleet demonstrates the commitment and confidence that Qantas has in the Australian domestic market and providing the best possible travel experience for their customers.

SYDNEY AIRPORT'S SKY TEAM LOUNGE TO OPEN THIS YEAR
The new SkyTeam lounge at Sydney Airport's Terminal 1 International terminal will be open in the first half of 2014.
The Sydney lounge will have the same look and feel as the lounges in London and Istanbul which have an uber-modern design where lighting, curved walls and flowing open spaces underscore a decidedly European look and feel.
Sydney's SkyTeam lounge will feature a wine bar and buffet with a variety of cuisines, a reading and relaxation zone and a dedicated business area.
All first class and business class passengers on SkyTeam airlines will have access to the lounge, along with travellers holding top-tier SkyTeam Elite Plus status in their respective airline's frequent flyer scheme.

TURKISH E-VISA REPLACES STAMP/ STICKER VISA
 The Turkish Consulate has advised that the stamp / sticker visa on arrival will be abolished from 10 April 2014 and will be completely replaced by the e-visa application process. All visitors to Turkey from 11 April 2014 will be required to purchase their entry visa via the Turkish Government website www.evisa.gov.tr prior to travel.
The application of Stamp Visa and Banderole visa for entering the Republic of Turkey at the border gates will continue together with the e-visa application until 10th April 2014.

QANTAS FAMILY TRANSFERS
Enjoy greater choice and flexibility in the way you use your points. Family transfers enable you to transfer a portion of your points to an eligible family member, who is also a Frequent Flyer member, up to four times in any 12 month period.
It's ideal for the times when you have enough points between you, but not enough individually, for an Award flight. Family transfers don't count as activity on your account, or the account you transfer points to, for the purpose of preventing your points from expiring.
How Family transfers work:
- Minimum 5,000 to maximum 100,000 points per transfer
- Maximum four transfers in any 12 month period
You can transfer points to an eligible family member online or you can call the Frequent Flyer Service Centre to transfer points.
VIRGIN AUSTRALIA OFFERS PAID ENTRY TO AIRPORT LOUNGES
Virgin Australia is opening its airport lounges to all travellers. Pre-flight time in Virgin Australia's lounges with free food, drinks and fast Internet all on tap will cost $65.00 at the door, or 10,000 Velocity Frequent Flyer points to buy a lounge pass online for up to six months in advance.
Business class travellers, Platinum and Gold members of Virgin's Velocity frequent flyer scheme already enjoy free entry to the airline's lounges.
The pay-to-enter concept is bound to be appealing to infrequent flyers, especially if they have a loose 10,000 points rattling around.
