QANTASLINK TO DEPART FROM SYDNEY QANTAS DOMESTIC TERMINAL 3
For travel from 15 August 2013, all QantasLink flights will depart from and arrive at Sydney Qantas Domestic Terminal 3 (T3), rather than Terminal 2 (T2).
The move will streamline transfers and speed connections for QantasLink passengers, onto both domestic and international Qantas flights.
Qantas look forward to providing their customers with a range of benefits in Terminal 3, including:
- Smoother connections between regional, domestic and international services.
- Reduced check-in times with faster smarter check-in facilities including access to Q Card Readers, Self-check Kiosks and Bag Drop.
- Access to Qantas lounges for eligible customers including The Qantas Club and the Qantas Business Lounge.
- A refreshed retail and dining experience.

SINGAPORE AIRLINES UNVEILS NEXT GENERATION OF CABIN PRODUCTS
Singapore Airlines next generation of cabin products are set to be the new industry benchmark for premium air travel. Customers travelling between Singapore and London will be the first to experience the new cabin products from September.
Singapore Airlines' new Economy Class seat provides additional comfort, with increased personal space and legroom. Each seat features a refreshed contemporary fabric design, new backrest seat cushions with side bolsters for better back support and an ergonomically sculpted headrest cushion.
KrisWorld in-flight entertainment experience on a wider 11.1-inch monitor, featuring an intelligent and unique touch-screen graphical user interface (GUI) accompanied by a video touch-screen handset.
The new Business Class seat set in a warm and inviting cabin offers greater recline at 132 degrees and features an improved ergonomic seat cushion. When converted, it becomes the industry's widest full-flat bed, at 79 inches in length.
In addition, the new Business Class seat boasts two new seating positions - 'Lazy Z' and 'Sundeck' - following in-depth research and feedback from customers.
The new First Class seat, set in a modern, welcoming cabin features a new fixed-back shell design with curved side panels to provide a clear demarcation of personal space, for added privacy. At 35 inches in width and with an increased bed length from 80 to 82 inches, it is one of the most spacious First Class products in the sky. |
CATHAY PACIFIC SET TO FLY TO THE MALDIVES
Cathay Pacific announced that it will launch a new four- time weekly service to the Maldives. The new service is scheduled to commence on 27 October 2013, subject to government approval.
To ensure passengers enjoy the maximum comfort for their journey to the Maldives, Cathay Pacific will use an Airbus A330-300 aircraft equipped with its award-winning Business Class, new Premium Economy Class and Long-haul Economy Class cabins.

VIRGIN AUSTRALIA REGIONAL OPERATION 
Virgin Australia's regional operations have been upgraded to the latest version of the Sabre booking and check-in system to align its system with the rest of the Virgin Australia Group. This system transition is a key part of the integration of Skywest into Virgin Australia and will bring a number of benefits to Virgin Australia customers.
This new system will make it easier for Virgin Australia customers to transfer between Virgin Australia flights and their partner airlines. The self-service options will improve as well as the ability to leverage the benefits of Virgin Australia's Velocity Frequent Flyer program and the ability to through check on international flights and greater choice of flights both domestically and internationally when making a booking.
VIRGIN AUSTRALIA SERVICES OUT OF PERTH
All flight numbers in Virgin Australias regional network (formally operated by Skywest) will now have the airline operating code of VA.
Virgin Australia operates out of the following terminals in Perth:
- All international flights (flight numbers VA1-199 and VA4000-4199), as well as flights to Christmas and Cocos Island, depart from and arrive at Perth Terminal 1 (International Terminal)
- All domestic flight numbers VA2500-2999 depart from and arrive at Perth Terminal 2.
- All domestic flight numbers VA200 -2499 (excluding flights to/from Christmas and Cocos Island), depart from and arrive at Perth Terminal 3.
Flights between Perth and Kalgoorlie will depart from Terminal 3. |

ETIHAD AIRWAYS A380 EXPANSION TO AUSTRALIA
Etihad Airways has outlined a series of major changes to its Australian operations, including the deployment of Etihad's new Airbus A380 to both Sydney and Melbourne. Etihad also plans to develop new premium lounges at Sydney and Melbourne airports. The airline will add more flights to Melbourne and Brisbane and launch a new route connecting Abu Dhabi with Perth.
