Dear Patients, Family and Friends~
Speaking of happy traveling (one of my favorite subjects), I just found this interesting study. The results didn't really come as a surprise to me, but, I am surprised that there was an actual study; published by Dr. Ryan Howell, San Francisco State University.
We've all heard that money can't buy happiness, but according to this study, that seems to depend on how and where you spend it. Dr. Howell interviewed over150 men and women, asking about their recent purchases. He found that people who'd spent their money on experiences instead of material goods were happier and more fulfilled feeling; this irregardless of the cost of the experience or item, or the person's income.
In the 1940's psychologist Abraham Maslow developed a theory called the Hierachy of Needs. His widely accepted theory states that once a person's basic human needs are satisfied, (food, water, sleep and shelter), we seek to fulfill our more complicated social needs, such as feeling connected to others and living in a more expansive and experiential way.
When you think of it, we don't seem to judge our experiences against each other the way we might judge attaining material posessions, plus we never get sick of happy memories, but can easily outgrow the latest electronic gadget!
Is the moral of the story (study) is to experience more and buy less stuff? Sounds good to me!

As we begin our preparations for the Kryon Discovery 2010 in Santiago de Chile, in the Andes Mountains, this video of the 2008 event has just arrived, a few hours after we got our tickets; probably a coincidence...It gives a great overview of the people and place, and the channel from Lee Carroll and Kryon is very VERY interesting. Kryon exactly predicts the big earthquake that just happened...another coincidence probably (smile) Its about 25 minutes with all of us doing our thing.
Click here: Discovery Santiago to view the video including soundtrack from Robert Coxon. It doesn't seem like an infomercial at all, but a very dear rememberance, to me. BTW, there are still very reasonably priced tickets to Santiago and the event (more smiles)! |

~~Evolutionary Leaders In Service to Conscious Evolution~~ I'm on all kind of emails lists, but when I got this today I was...happy, yeah...happy. I got the feeling of hope for our new humanity; that's those of us who believe that we can change the destiny of the planet and her people with uplifting consciousness. Here's what they're saying:
"Join Deepak Chopra, Gregg Braden, Michael Bernard Beckwith, Jean Houston, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Joan Borysenko, Bruce Lipton, Debbie Ford, Jack Canfield, Lynne Twist, Lynne McTaggart, Duane Elgin, James O'Dea, Peter Russell, Andrew Cohen and over forty other Evolutionary Leaders from around the globe in support of a future that is not what happens to us but rather what we create. But for me, here's the really good part: Together we can co-create a new narrative of conscious evolution by:
· Building a global community and creating a culture of peace
· Restoring ecological balance to nourish all life and mitigate the effects of climate change
· Engaging in social and political transformation by calling for a more conscious democracy
· Promoting health and healing by acknowledging the profound mind-body-spirit connection
· Supporting research and education that optimizes human capacities
· Encouraging integrity in business and conscious media
Any one of those bullet point make me happy, but all of them???? Wow! I can't be there but they gave the live streaming link...I'll be there, so here it is for you: Join the Evolution.
The most exciting thing for me is that we can each be a part of this evolution without buying a ticket. All that we have to do is live in our conscious (as opposed to UNconscious) experience every moment. Here are my bullet points:
*As we uncover our own inner peace, we will become the culture of peace in the world
*When we honor our lives, we will automatically honor our Mother planet
*As we acknowledge the peace/piece of God that we are, we connect to the greater community
*Each of us has the choice to live in the light of our highest potential for self-realization
Not the same, but similar. What would your bullet points be?? Blessings, Amber |
Then we realized its time for Taste of Wellness fairs! Does that mean that summer if coming to an end; can't be! The dates are Sept 11 (we'll both be there), Oct 9 and Nov 13 (just Sid for those two). Remember to arrive early (9:30) to schedule with us. Looking forward to seeing you there at the Issak Walton Building, Sunset Ave, Longmont...we'll talk about the leaves turning another time. (smile) |
