On Friday, we proudly revealed our year long Judaic Art Installation to students and families. Enjoy this video that shares the genesis of this remarkable project.

ELUL IS UPON US Morah Rivkie's 3rd graders are learning about the current month of Elul and the necessary steps it takes to do Teshuva-Repentance. The students were asked to first reach step #5 without using steps 1-4 and it was quite difficult. The students were then asks to climb the steps in order 1,2,3 and found it to be easier to accomplish!
BAGELS WITH A TWIST This week the students in the History and Halacha of Jewish Cooking elective created visually inspiring rainbow bagels! SMOKEY SITUATION Ms. Bigham and Ms. Fowler performed a number of exciting experiments for their elementary classes that illustrated the effects of smoke, fire and water to name a few.
LEAFY GOALS To mark the beginning of their unit on plants, Mr. Riklin takes his 2nd grade class outdoors to explore and discuss the difference between healthy and unhealthy plants. The students also completed a neat experiment with celery and water. HANDS ON Tzvi Meckley is loving the hand printing inspired art project for EC 15 as they learn and explore "All About Me" this week.
PROPERLY DONE Matthew Morgan works on identifying plurals for improper nouns in Ms. Massey's English class.
CLASSROOMS UNVEILED Last Friday, we welcomed guests and students for the first look at the beautifully appointed new classrooms for EC3, EC4, Kindergarten and Music.
WHAT'S UP? Grade 3 students in Morah Rinat's Hebrew class are loving working on their iPads exploring the animated Hebrew Learning App titled "Ma Kore". SHOFAR SOUNDS The sounds of the Shofar permeate our hallways every morning after davening as look ahead to the Jewish New Year.

Flag Football
The Beren Academy Flag Football team beat Westside on Tuesday 12-6. The Stars will host Cristo Rey on September 12th.

The Stars dropped a tough game against Westbury Christian on September 6th. The girls will try to win a revenge games against Southwest Christian Academy on Thursday, September 8th.
