MIDDLE SCHOOL SHABBATON
Middle Schoolers gathered last Shabbat for an in-school Shabbaton. The theme was Achdut - Teamwork, and spent the entire time on campus experiencing a truly engaging and bonding Shabbat.
THE BEAUTY OF ISRAEL
Morah Roza's third grade class has been learning about different areas in Israel throughout this year. The Bnot Sherut created a large wooden map in the shape of Israel and the students are filling it in with different colored tiles and plan to have it completed by Yom Haatzmaut .
CHINA MAVENS
Ms. Fowler's elementary school class studied China and four students, (l-r) Gaby Brown, Nathan Hafkin, Moshe Dunivan and Daniel Kirshner expee to learn more about China, its location and population and other details. They visited Chinatown and explored the decorations, Chinese pottery, tea, food and architecture and then presented their research to their classmates.
STICKY SOLUTION
Ms. Massey's 5th grade students completed a sticky experiment. Their hypothesis was to see if polymer balls the made out of borax, glue, cornstarch, food coloring, and water would bounce. And the result was yes, they did and they had a lot of fun making them.
SOARING STUDENTS
9th graders celebretated the completion of the Quadrilaterals unit by flying the kites they built while learning the properties of a Geometric kite.
LEARN FROM THE BEST
In continuation of Morah Rinat's students asuming the role of teacher, Maya Wadler taught her classmates how to make hamentashen entirely in Hebrew.
While Daniel BarYadin instructed his classmates with how to create their own Purim masks.
STRUCTURALLY SOUND
Start of the 3rd grade architecture and design unit in art- students were challenged to design a structure made of toothpicks and marshmallows. Students quickly realized that there were many structural, weight, and balance issues in constructing their designs to meet their artistic visions, and had to work together in small groups in order to make their sculptures structurally sound.
