Our Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart event was held on February 10, 2016. Our elementary students had a great time sharing their impressive skills and the knowledge they gained about the importance of heart health while raising over $4,400!

YOU'VE GOT MAIL Mrs. Schneider's 1st grade class from last year diligently mailed letters to the author Tomie De Paola of the Strega Nona book series that they all adored. MYSTERY READER The Mystery Reader is back in action in Kindergarten and Ashlug was on hand to surprise her son and his peers with a funny rendition of "The Book With No Pictures by B.J. Novak not once but twice!
A WHOLE NEW WORLD EC 4 student Hannah Levit enjoying working with some of the new educational maiterials and manipulatives added to the EC 4 classroom in addition to a redesign of the classroom layout making it even more conducive to successful and varied workstation activity sessions.
PIECE OF THE PIE Ella Miloh and Samson Roisman are working together on math skills and are using tactile materials to work on fractions and division in particular. PATRIOTIC PALS Presidents Day is almost upon us and EC3 students (l-r) Ahava Carmel, Meira Meckley and Avishua Silverstone share their impressive interpretations of the American flag.
TASTEFUL MOSAICS 4th graders with their completed Israel Mosaics, showing the different landforms of Israel- popcorn for desert, black beans for mountains, blue rice for water, green cous cous for fertile land. Students also learned the names of the different seas in and around Israel, as well as the surrounding countries.
WASHINGTON
Our 8th graders have been taking the D.C. by storm this week. They visited loads of museums and sites including the The Holocaust Museum, Newseum, International Spy Museum and the Smithsonian- Natural History Museum and even caught a Georgetown Hoyas basketball game. Below the group enjoyed a tour of the Capital.
MOVING ON UP Our EC15 class is currently learning about transportation for their art projects made creative pictures of trucks and sail boats and next will tackle creating cars. (l-r) Eden Bliberg and Amalya Kalman. LINE UP Morah Elisheva's 2nd graders explored various Math concepts in a fun and active way. They each took a large leap, measured the distance of their jump in inches, wrote it down and placed on their shirt. Then they arranged themselves from shortest to longest and answered various math concepts questions determining the minimum and maximum for example.
FAMILY DAY This week, Israel celebrated family day and in honor of this, Morah Rinat and Morah Roza's students each made cards in Hebrew for their families expressing thanks and love. Ofir Tessler shares part of his card below.
THANK YOU! For Chanukah last year, our Shlichim and Bnot Sherut organized for our students to participate in an "Adopt a Soldier" Program. This involved collecting letters of support in addition to donations used to purchase items to make their Chanukah special. BASKETBALL SENIOR NIGHT
Thank you to our players, family and supporters who came out on Tuesday for our Basketball Senior night!
Basketball
High School Girls
The girls finished their season with a 3-5 TAPPS District Record. They were led this year by seniors Atara Braun, Shayna Guttman and Tehilla Teigman. The girls showed steady improvement through out the season and look to rebound next year and make the playoffs. They will have 10 girls returning next season.
High School Boys The boys finished 8-2 in TAPPS district play which was good enough to land them a 2nd place finish. Next week, the boys will play a warm up scrimmage vs. CHSA on Tuesday at 7:30 pm at Beren Academy. Their first playoff game will be a home game late next week. The opponent and time are yet to be determined.
If your child will miss a practice or a game, please let the coach know prior to the practice. It can come in the form of a text or an e-mail. Please do not have another player relay the message as it is often forgotten or not accurate.
