BOSTON BOUND Our High School Varisty boys and girls teams had a blast in Boston last weekend at tournament that gathered teams from Jewish Day schools across America and Canada. Boys and girls finished 3rd and 4th respectively. Below, Asaph Kupferman taking a shot while (l-r) Gabriella Abramson, Atara Braun, Bracha Teigman and Tali Miller cheer on from the stands.
TO MARKET TO MARKET On Fridays Morah Esther's EC2 students dress up for the market with their colorful capes and learn how to purchase and count challahs.
DISAPPEARING ACT Ms. Bigham and Ms. Fowler's students gathered to learn about a science experiment they will be conducting where they will montitor the effects of evaporation and compare the effect of varying areas of exposure to air over time. NATURE LOVERS EC4 student Anaelle Levenstein completing her Nature themed work book that tied into Tu B'Shvat while also working on fine motor, handwriting and math skills.
MASTERPIECE The Judaic Art Initiative project is moving along nicely with students in Upper and Elementary School collaborating to recreate the seven fruits on the interior with the seven days of creation featured on the exterior walls. Olesia Rosenberg-Johnson (below), Nissim Ruben (l) and Jonnie Katz (r) hard at work.
TOP THAT After finishing their math worksheets in Ms. Schneider's class, Abe Fink and Jonah Schneider are rewarded with a fun math themed card game called "Name", where they work on identifying double digit numbers by drawing two cards, determine the highest numberical value they could hold together as one number, with the highest number winning the hand. SHAPING UP FOR SHABBAT As part of their Friday ritual Ms. Thomas's EC 2 students use their specially decorated Shabbat mats in anticipation of their challah and grape juice snack while being read a new story about Shabbat.
TEXAS AND BEYOND Shira Babajanov enjoys her centers time in Ms. Berger's class working on identifying and tracing the states of America. Students were curious as to which was bigger, California or Texas but quickly found out that everything is bigger in Texas!
SHABBAT SHALOM Kindergarten students enjoy taking turns as Shabbat Abba and Imma each week in class. Noah Ackerman (l) and Elana Yanowitz (r)
PARENT EDUCATION Elyssa Fink, LCSW educated our parents this week about the psychology behind temper tamptrums and effective tools and techniques to manage those meltdown moments.

Basketball
High School Girls
The girls are now 3-3 in TAPPS district play. Their next game will be on Thursday against at First Baptist. Next week, the girls will celebrate "Senior Night" with a district game vs. Chinquapin at 5:30 at home.
High School Boys
The boys are now 7-1 in TAPPS district play. The Stars play for the district championship on Thursday at First Baptist.. Next week, the boys will celebrate "Senior Night" with a district game vs. Chinquapin at 7:00 at home.
Playoffs
The boys have clinched a home game in the first round of the TAPPS playoffs. The time and date will be announced at a later date. This is the 6th straight year that the Stars have finished either first or second in their district.
If your child will miss a practice or a game, please let the coach know prior to the practice. It can come in the form of a text or an e-mail. Please do not have another player relay the message as it is often forgotten or not accurate.
