ROCKETS FOOD DRIVE
Thank you to all our families who particpated in the Houston Rockets annual food drive benefiting Target Hunger and Casa De Esperanza. Together we collected an incredible 2,750 food items! Thank you to our Lower School student council who helped tally and pack up the items and well done to our Kindergarten class who will each receive a Houston Rockets T-shirt for collecting the most items with 1,176!
SURVIVOR STRENGTH
In honor of breast Cancer Awareness month, our Middle and High School students had the pleasure of listening to Ruth Ebenstein, an American Israeli Breast Cancer survivor who wrote a powerful memoir, How to Laugh (And Cry) Through Breast Cancer.

ROCKIN' GOOD TIME

ART OF THE CHICKEN
EC 4 students are beginning to work on their Houston Rodeo Art Competition entries. Students (l-r) Anaelle Levenstein, Shayna Hassid, Eitan Ashlag, Aiden Sigler and Ryan Gonik are working on painting images of chickens and eggs.
THE 5 KINGDOMS
Mrs. Fowler's students learned how all living things are classified into 5 Kingdoms. They looked at the whole chart and identified pictures that belong in each kingdom. Then the children were invited to choose a food that represented each of the five kingdoms to make a wonderful cracker hors d'oeuvres and learn through their senses.
#WE STAND WITH ISRAEL
Neil Lazarus addressed our High School students about Israel Advocacy. Neil is a an incredibly engaging and insightful speaker and following the presentation students stood together to show their support for Israel. Following this our Bnot Sheirut created a photo opportunity for all our students to show their support for Israel.
RADICAL READING
The first Bluebonnet social of the year was held for 3rd - 5th grade students who read a certain number of books from their reading list and completed either summaries or art projects for those books. Students celebrated their hard work by playing "Rainbow Challenge Game," working in teams on different trivia and riddle challenges for each color of the rainbow.
MATCH THAT HABITAT
Mrs. Schneider created an intreractive game using her SmartBoard technology for first grade students to link animals with their correct habitats in the form of a fun memory game as shown by Abe Fink.
SOUND THE ALARM
To cap off our Fire Safety Week, 4th and 5th graders visited local Houston Fire Department Station #21 and Sarah Plumb got an inside look into what it takes to be a firefighter.
3D HALACHA

SHABBAT TREAT
Every Shabbat the Kindergarten studeents enjoy a visit from classmate Noah Ackerman's Savta who reads a story and then bakes challah with the class. Ami Kellerman and Lenoy Jarufi proudly hold a tray of challah that is about to be baked.

Morah Roza's 5th graders are engrossed in working together to complete a Parshat Noach themed puzzle.
