PAST RMBA HIGHLIGHTS
ONLINE AWARENESS
Our Middle and High School students participated in a lecture from Michelle Sacks with Crime Stoppers who shared an insightful presentation about Internet safety and cyberbullying.

SHAPES AND SIZES
EC2 students Natalie Cohen, Michaella Bublil, Evey Murchison and Eliya Vaknin proudly display their latest work. This week they discussed tashlich and are beginning to learn about colors starting with green. They practiced tearing green paper into likesize pieces and to create fun images of one of their new vocabulary words such as cat, rainbow and train.

SPIRITUALLY THROUGH SONG
High school students enjoyed a Kumsitz last Friday, an informal gathering where they sat together singing spirtually moving songs in Hebrew. Students then dined on delicious cholent to mark this special gathering.

FRIENDS TILL THE END
(l-r) Yael Agranov, Eden Bliberg and Agam Jarufi are enjoying a little down time in the EC15 outdoor play area. This past week they have focused on Yom Kippur, enjoyed making shofars, talking about "friends", making new friends and helping each other. Our tiny tots have also explored the color blue, creating blue square art and painting blue skies with Ms Colleen.

WHALE OF A TIME
Grade 2 student Michael Sulman assists Morah Judy while she shares the story of Jonah and the Whale to his peers as they learn about Teshuva - repentance in the days leading up to Yom Kippur.

MINIMILISTIC MAVENS
Abstract art has left an impression on our youngest minds and in art class, EC 4 students (l-r)  Oriya Vaknin and Naomi Micha creatively explored the use of primary colors and cut outs in the style of Mondrian.

ATHLETICS UPDATES
Accessing the current schedule
Please re sync your calendars weekly if it is something that you do.

Middle School Volleyball
The middle school volleyball team played a tough match against Grace this week and look to win a tough match against St. Thomas Episcopal this week. Here are a couple of things to think about as we start to play games on the road:
  • Some schools will charge admission at their schools to watch the game (most will not charge). We do not charge admission at Beren for middle school games.
  • Transportation to and from away games are the parents responsibility. The middle school girls away games are on September 10, September 21, October 8October 13 and October 15th.
  • There will be games in which the middle school players will need to leave their last class early to make it to the games on time.
  • Updated practice schedules are on the school calendar and game schedules can be found on the school website calendar.
  • The gate code is 233# for anyone picking up their child from basketball practice or games. Please use the Greenwillow gate.
  • If you have any questions, please e-mail me at chriscole@berenacademy.org.
  • I am always looking for adults to call lines, do the book and do the clock.
High School Volleyball
The girls have been competeing very hard in their TAPPS district.  They have some tough games coming up and are looking forward to the challenge.
  • Some schools will charge admission at their schools to watch the game (most High School's will charge).
  • Updated practice schedules are on the school calendar and game schedules can be found on the school website calendar.
  • The gate code is 233# for anyone picking up their child from basketball practice or games. Please use the Greenwillow gate.
  • Please make sure the girls wear knee length shorts for practices.
  • If you have any questions, please e-mail me at chriscole@berenacademy.org
Flag Football
  • The flag football team is now 3-2 on the season  and will play their last home game on Thursday, September 24th at RMBA at 5:30 p.m.
BASKETBALL TO START IN LATE OCTOBER
All middle school and high school basketball teams will start in the later half of October.  Exact dates will be published in a few weeks.
If you have any questions about the two sports, please contact Coach Cole at chriscole@berenacademy.org.
