PAST RMBA HIGHLIGHTS
THE RIGHT STUFF
9th and 10th graders Hebrew teachers wanted their students to start the year strong and on the right foot. Each student traced their foot on a large scroll of paper and wrote their hebrew goals for the new year in the hopes for a positive academic year.

SUMMER PACKET DELIGHTS
Elementary students enjoyed a delicious waffle and fruit breakfast to celebrate the completion of the academic packet during the summer. The packet contains a variety of concepts and skills to review including math, grammar and reading comprehension, to keep their minds fresh and sharp for the start of the school year.

APPLE APPRECIATION
EC3 students are getting to know each other and learn the rules of the class while learning about Rosh Hashana.

TEKIAH TIME
Each morning, students hear the sounds of the shofar throughout the school. Steven Plumb and Sheldon Bootin share the honors and kindly visit both the Lower and Upper School each morning.

DEDICATED TO DIRECTION
Morah Esther's EC 2 students decorated their own direction sticks to be used to broaden their vocabulary by learning age appropriate prepositions.

B'HATZLACHA
3rd grade students are growing their Hebrew language through fun workbooks and challenging class excersises and we wish them much success as they navigate their fun and challenging curriculum with Morah Gross.

HIGH FIVE
Kindergarten students are acclimating well to their new environment and are currently learning about the five books of the Torah through engaging song and dance with Morah Gelman.

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
EC4 teacher Sarah Herbst gives students one on one attention to improve hand writing skills, one of the many concepts that her students will be mastering this coming year.

LINE UP
Our Elementary School adheres to the Handwriting without Tears Program that encourages successful handwriting skills in an effective and engaging manner. Mrs. Schneider took her first graders outside the classroom for a fun group writing activity in the school hallway.

MATH MADNESS
Ms. Fowler's first grader's are learning place value to the thousands with math manipulatives.

ATHLETICS UPDATES

Middle School Volleyball
The middle school volleyball team dropped their first game of the season to a solid Grace School.  They will look to bounce back next Monday.  Here are a couple of things to think about as we start to play games on the road.
  • Some schools will charge admission at their schools to watch the game (most will not charge). We do not charge admission at Beren for middle school games.
  • Transportation to and from away games are the parents responsibility. The middle school girls away games are on September 2, September 10, September 21, October 8, October 13 and October 15th.
  • There will be games in which the middle school players will need to leave their last class early to make it to the games on time.
  • A list of Away game locations is posted on the website.
  • Updated practice schedules are on the school calendar and game schedules can be found on the school website and calendar.
  • The gate code is 233# for anyone picking up their child from basketball practice or games. Please use the Greenwillow gate.
  • If you have any questions, please e-mail me at chriscole@berenacademy.org.
  • I am always looking for adults to call lines, do the book and do the clock.
High School Volleyball
The girls dropped their first game of the season but look to bounce back next Tuesday when they travel to Northwest Christian.  Here are a couple of reminders about the season.
  • Some schools will charge admission at their schools to watch the game (most High School's will charge).
  • A list of Away game locations is posted on the website.
  • Updated practice schedules are on the school calendar and game schedules can be found on the school website and calendar.
  • The gate code is 233# for anyone picking up their child from basketball practice or games. Please use the Greenwillow gate.
