MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL

I want to warmly welcome you all to the start of the 2015/16 academic school year at Robert M. Beren Academy. It was a joy to see so many smiling faces this morning. Thank you for your support and trust in our staff to provide your children with a quality Jewish Day school experience here is Houston. And a special thanks to my administrative team and teachers who worked so hard to start this year on such a strong and positive note. 

I am thrilled to welcome 68 new students and announce that we have 313 students enrolled as of today and am looking forward to yet another stellar school year. Wishing you and your family a Shabbat Shalom.

PAST RMBA HIGHLIGHTS 
TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD
We are thrilled to share that Elementary School General Studies Teacher Mirit Schneider was awarded with the Annual Faculty Teacher of the Year Award for the 2014/15 academic school year. This award is generously underwritten by June and Leonard Goldberg. Mirit is a passionate and caring educator so please join us in wishing her Mazal Tov for this achievement. 


ORIENTATION EXPERIENCE 
Upper School General Studies Principal Raquel Cedano created a new and improved orientation process for Upper School students prior to the start of the year.  Students checked in, handed in paperwork, signed up for explo/electives and discussed class schedules with teachers to get ready for the first day of school.


LOWER SCHOOL BACK TO SCHOOL SOCIAL
Lower School students gathered for a fun social event that included meeting new teachers and classmates along with some fun activities like miniature golf and inflatables.   

BACK TO SCHOOL BBQ
Middle School and High School each enjoyed BBQs prior to the start of school this week. Upper School Prinicpal Rabbi Aaron Levitt oversaw the BBQ that allowed for students  to catch up with friends and teachers alike while meeting the new Bnot Sherut for the coming year, Shani Breslauer and Rennana Spiegelman. 


CONTINUED EDUCATION
Our Lower School Principal Helene Lubel and Judaic Studies Principal Rabbi Aaron Levitt participated in Leadership Training at the Principals' Center at Harvard programs and the Davidson School of JTS's Day School Leadership Training Institute (DSLTI) supported by AVI CHAI this summer. CAR SAFETY

Always drive slowly and cautiously while on the school campus and along Greenwillow and Cliffwood Drive. Please enter and exit the school property through the applicable gates and be considerate during car pool.

 

Please refrain from parking in the assigned RMBA Auction Winner parking spot during pick up as this is reserved.
