BUTTERFLY BINGO EC3 students divide into small groups and visit different learning centers set up around the room. This particular group of students is playing Butterfly Letter Bingo with Morah Aviva that allows for the students to learn to identify their letters in a fun and engaging manner.
CRAFTY CREATIONS First and second graders in Mrs. Ross's class enjoy their time experimenting with geometric configurations.
TROPICAL TASTES In continuation of their study of the rain forests and their visit to Moody Gardens, first grade students are learning about vegetation typically found in those areas and as a treat, getting to explore and taste the unique fruits found in such environments such as mangos, coconuts, papaya and more!
PREPPING FOR TORAH FAIR Students in grades 1-5 grade have been working for the past few weeks on their Torah Fair presentations and we look forward ot having you join us on Monday evening, May 18th at 5:30pm to enjoy their hard work and efforts. TECH SAVVY STUDENTS Students visited the computer lab and working in pairs used Prezi software to create innovative presentations depicting the 39 Malachot that are certain activities that are forbidden on Shabbat. Students could include examples from current movies researched on the Internet illustrating examples of these 39 Malachot. 9th and 10th grade Gemrara students are able to combine modern technologies with the study of the Torah in a fun and creative manner.
GO ROCKETS Students were encouraged to wear red shirts or Rockets Jerseys ahead of Tuesday's game against the LA Clippers to show our support for our Houston Rockets and our Ruach must have helped as the Rockets won and play again on Thursday evening trailing 3-2 in the series. Let's go Rockets!
GRADUATION LOOMS LARGE Our Kindergarten students are busy preparing props and posters for their upcoming graduation on Tuesday, June 2. Family and friends join our students as they officially mark their readiness to enter first grade. HOLA FOR CHALLAH Rabbi Rabinowitz's 7th grade Chumash class have studied the Halachot over the past few classes. The laws of Challah are found in Parshat Shelach, the Torah portion that they are currently studying and students baked their very own challohs as they learned, hands on, all about the Mitzva of Taking Challah from a dough with the help of our Bnot Sheirut Aya and Neta. EXPLODING WITH KNOWLEDGE Mrs. Fowler's 2nd grade students learned about the parts of a volcano, drew and labeled their own volcanos and erupted a model volcano in class.
HOLE IN ONE
Mrs. Rosenzweig challenged her Middle School Geometry students to a Miniature Golf Project assignment. Students used a variety of math skills and concepts they thought they would never use in their lives involving "The Laws of Sines and Cosines" and enjoyed many "aha moments".
100 YEARS YOUNG
In honor of David Mitzner's milestone 100th birthday, Frost Bank generously donated $5,000 towards Robert M. Beren Academy's annual fundraising campaign. During the check presentation and visit, photography students shared insight with the representatives from Frost Bank about their powerful photographs that connect to the Holocaust that are currently displayed on the Photography Gallery Wall.
