LAG B'OMER Our talented Bnot Sheirut Aya and Neta created a unique Lag B'Omer celebration for our students to enjoy while at school that included learning about Rabbi Akiva, singing songs, playing games and eating delicious smores over the "bonfire".
CTP 4 TESTING Students in grade 1-8 are in the midst of CTP 4 testing. This year, we elevated our testing set up and for the first time, our elementary school students took part in the testing using IPads. We are pleased to report that this technological upgrade has been a success and look forward to the smooth process in the years to come.
STAY AWARE
The 4th and 5th graders participated in a program called "It can wait" exploring the issues regarding texting and driving. Presented by Jenelle Garner, a RMBA parent, whose company AT&T graciously sponsors preventative education, providing students with the opportunity to benefit from learning good conscious habits before they are behind the wheel. Students enjoyed a variety of fun and frenetic activities that illustrated how easily distracted one could be while driving. SOUP TALES EC 2 students learn about the different vegetables that can go into making a delicious Shabbat soup. Each student takes a turn to select and name a vegetable and then "mix" into the soup. MOVING ON UP A panel of High School students shared their insights and helpful tips to incoming RMBA Freshman who are cycling out of their final year in Middle School.
READY TO READ EC4 students enjoying Old Cricket by Lisa Wheeler, their weekly story session in the library with our Librarian Cynthia while taking a break to learn a neat trick with their hands to remember the difference between their B's and D's.
ROOM TO GROW Mrs. Fowler's students have been eagerly working in the garden area during the cooler spring morning hours and planting various seeds and plants including beans, radishes, sweet peas and fennel to name a few.
EXPLORING PAST WORLDS Grade 6 students took a break from their regular to World Cultures and Geography classroom to visit the art room to recreate some of the images and pieces they are learning about pertaining to the Mesopotamian era such as ancient wall carvings or tablets.
MUSIC MAVENS
Our youngest students enjoy their weekly musical sessions with our music instructor who comes armed with a trusty guitar and plenty of fun songs and movements to engage our tiny tots. In continuing the theme of learning about Israel this past month, Morah Gross's 3rd graders each presented beautiful and detailed projects about a particular city in Israel to their peers.
IMAGINE ALL THE PEOPLE 4th grade students discussed what every every Independent country needs to thrive such as a flag, land, national anthem, money and an army. Students then created imaginary countries with details of all the things they would need to be successfully independent.
