PAST RMBA HIGHLIGHTS
PRIME TIME
In honor of the recent Israel focused events and activities, Morah Rinat's 8th, 9th and 10th grade students studied about past Israeli Prime Ministers and the major milestones occuring during their time in office. Below students worked in groups to correctly place the Israeli Prime Minster in chronological order based on their years of service.

REACH FOR THE STARS

Morah Elisheva's grade 2 students created their own Chinese lanterns in honor of learning about the Chinese calendar as part of their studies of the various calendars observed around the world.

RAINFOREST READY
In preparation of their Moody Gardens field trip, first graders selected an animal that lives in the rainforests, created a written project about the animal and then painted their animal of choice on a t-shirt that they wore on their field trip this week.

CHALLAH CHAVERIM
Savta (grandmother to Shayna Guttman, Ariana, Noah and Ben Ackerman) came to make Challah with our Kindergarten students and shared touching photographs and stories about her family's experiences living Israel during the Six Day War.

MAKE SOME NOISE
EC 15 students enjoy their music time where they each get an instrument to shake and use while they learn and sing during their daily music sessions.

CUPCAKE WARS
5th graders are in the process of making cupcakes as a clay project in Art class. They have completed the bases, will still need to make the covers and then have the pieces fired in the kiln followed by painting to look like delicious cupcakes.

ANALYZE THIS
Dr. Harel came several weeks ago to discuss bacteria with the Middle School students. He returned last week to help swab the inside and outside of the each student's cheek, with hopes of determining if there was a difference in bacteria types inside and outside of the mouth. The students came to the class during each lunch period to count the number of colonies. He then returned to help students analyze the bacteria found.

CHECK MATE
The 1st annual battle of the Chess minded folks took place this week with BYDS pitted against our Beren Stars. The students displayed determination and maturity with BYDS being victorious overall. Kol Hakavod to all participants and our students who are part of our recently created after school chess program. We look forward to the rematch next year for the coveted crown.

WIGGLE TIME
Early Childhood enjoy their weekly music and movement sessions where they sing-alon and learn new Judaic songs in addition to some fun activities to get the body moving such pretending to be jellyfish, octopuses, sharks and more while imitating their movements!

EARTH DAY

In celebration of Earth Day the traditional second graders discussed ideas of how to make the earth a cleaner and safer place. We then walked around the campus and collected lots of trash in the hope of not only beautifying the grounds but also helping to protect animal and bird that may be out there.

CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY PROGRAM
Our Middle and High School students each enjoyed informative presentations by Crystal Collier from the  Council on Alcohol and Drugs in Houston about the effects of chemical dependency that delved into the science of high risk behavior.

CLASS COMES TO LIFE
First graders visited the Rainforest exhibit at Moody gardens in Galveston this week that included a classroom visit, saw real animals and enjoyed a guided tour followed by a picnic lunch.
