PAST RMBA HIGHLIGHTS
RMBA Blood Drive
Thank you to everyone who supported our blood drive held last week and Kol Hakavod to our Lower School Student Council who coordinated the event. 21 people donated to the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center including RMBA High School students and parents.

RUNAWAY SUCCESS
Weeks of training, hard work and determination finally paid off with our Girls on the Run and Track groups meeting up for their end of semester 5K run.  The girls did an amazing job pacing and challenging themselves with everyone completing the task at hand. They also participated in a wonderful community impact project including a linen drive  to benefit Interfaith Ministries Refugee Program, a gently used book and toy drive to benefit Star of Hope Mission and no-sew blankets to benefit Project Linus. GO TEAM!!

TPG #2
Our Shlichim Ilan and Sheli Ehrlich hosted the second Torah, Pizza, Gym event of the year this past Saturday night.  Families gathered to enjoy rewarding discussions and fun activities that focused on learning to be modest while indulging in some delicious pizza followed by some free time in the Gym.

FUN IN THE SUN
Earlier this month, 15 RMBA High School students enjoyed a successful joint shabbaton in Hollywood, Florida. The community was very welcoming and everyone had a great time biking on the beautiful beach there. Shabbat was filled with lots of "Ruach" (spirit) and the Houston students really stood out with their singing and participation showing everyone what Bnei Akiva is all about!  Students also enjoyed glow in the dark mini golf on Saturday night!

LIGHTING UP SEVEN ACRES

A number of our 6th grade students volunteered their time and efforts to make 112 Chanukah cards for residents of Seven Acres, deliver the cards and participate in a candle lighting ceremony on the first night of Chanukah. Kol Hakavod to our students and families for organizing this wonderful Mitzvah!

SUMPTUOUS SUFGANIYOT
Upper School students participated in special morning davening to commemorate the first day of chanukah and to celebrate, students throughout the school enjoyed delicious Sufganiyot with all the fixings!

TASTY DELIGHTS
This past week, students enjoyed the Ulpan Maasi program hosted by our Bnot Sheirut Aya and Neta, where in honor of the first day of Chanukah, students "ordered" sufganiyot in with the toppings and sprinkles of their choosing in Hebrew following by art activities.

WE HEART HOOPS
Congratulations to our elementary school students who have participated in our Hoops for Heart program. Over the past few weeks, students have been fundraising to promote heart health and this week, have participated in some fun and challenging hoop activities in P.E. classes with Mrs. Buchine.

COLLEGE BOUND
Our High School and 8th grade students have endured a challenging week of finals and are relieved that they are now over. Even more exciting has been for our Seniors who are beginning to hear back from colleges regarding their submitted applications! Congratulations are in order for many of our students and may the good news keep on coming!  Binghmanton University SUNY, Tulane, Denver University, Stern Honors, University of Texas Engineering, Indiana University, Case Western Reserve University and Drexel are just a few of the universities some of our students have already been accepted to.

BIBLE PLAYERS
The Bible Players were back to showcase their comedic skills for our Lower School students this week. This dynamic duo can be seen at Jewish Summer Camps across the Country and we were fortunate to enjoy a sampling of their hilarious yet educational take on life and the Torah.

CHANUKAH PERFORMANCES
In continuation of our celebration of Chanukah this week, EC family and friends were invite to enjoy performances by our EC students who have been practicing hard all week long! This was followed by classroom visits and latke snacks for our guests and performers! Later that day, our Kindergarten and 1st graders also performed for family and friends.

IRON CHEF COMES TO RMBA

High school students participated in a dramatic Iron Chef showdown: Latke edition to crown the best latke making team known to RMBA. It was a worthy battle with many tasty contenders enjoyed by all.  May the tradition continue in 2016!
