PAST RMBA HIGHLIGHTS
APPLE TIME
Kindergarten students thoroughly enjoyed their art project this week creating apples in honor of Rosh Hashana.

CRAFTING A MESSAGE OF LOVE
Morah Rinat Alatin decided to treat her 8th grade Hebrew class to a more relaxed session and indulge in some fun Rosh Hashana activities too. Students learned about and then discussed specific customs and blessings in Hebrew and made Rosh Hashana cards for loved ones proving that you are never too old for some arts and crafts, especially if it's to spread good wishes for the new year.

WORKING IT OUT
Girls on the Run and Girls on Track are back in full swing at RMBA!  Celebrating over two dozen girls across both programs, we are also pleased to welcome girls from Pin Oak, Horn, BYDS, and Shlenker!  Seen here, running is a full body sport that requires teamwork and conditioning!

SHABBAT STRUMMING
High School students are learning Masechet (Tractate) Shabbat in Gemara class this year, so we feel it's important to use that opportunity to not just teach Gemara academically, but to really allow our learning to bring us to new spiritual heights. They are learning about the importance of preparing for Shabbat, and that a Jew's holiness on Shabbat directly correlates to the amount of preparation they put in before it begins. To get in the mood for Shabbat last Friday, Rabbi Kellerman's class sang songs and shared inspirational stories.

GOLDEN EXAMPLE
RMBA High School students organized a ribbon initiative in honor of Pediatric Cancer Awareness. A short assembly was held in the library where students who initiated the project informed students about Pediatric Cancer and the need for support. Each student was then given a gold ribbon that was worn for the rest of the day.

BATTLE OF THE BRAINS
RMBA hosted its first Battle of Brains event this past Sunday. 5th graders went head to head with 8th graders in an Odyssey of the Mind puzzler involving marshmallows, pasta and straws.  The 8th grade eked out a win but stay tuned for Round 2 ...

AN EPIC JOURNEY
We welcomed Elementary School parents to RMBA for our Everyday Math and Montessori Journey nights.  Parents in classes from EC 4 - 3rd grade explored the skills and mind-expanding concepts of Everyday Math.  Meanwhile, our Montessori families got down and dirty with the Montessori tools and methods!  Whichever room these parents visited, they left absolutely blown away by the work our students are generating!

SUGAR FOR MY HONEY
EC 3 students enjoyed making delicious honey cake with their teachers this week. Each student had a turn to mix and stir and patiently waited for their cake to bake before they could sample their creation.  Morah Judy Pollack's 2nd grade class made delicious apple pies this week in honor of Rosh Hashana. Needless to say, the aroma in the hallways has been heavenly!

SHANA TOVA HOUSTON!
Our Bnot Sheirut coordinated an incredible video of messages from people in Israel sending Shana Tova wishes to RMBA students. Click below to enjoy the sweet messages!
