Do you often look at commercials and advertisements for the latest products and think they are pointless and empty? Are you tired of seeing people care more about the newest smartphone than what really matters? Do you think the world would be a much better place if everyone was less distracted by material things? Would you like to meet up with junior youth who think and feel the same way so together you can get informed, talk about these matters and come up with ways to bring about change? Then this special program is just for you! Come to Green Acre and participate in workshops to combat materialism and put art and technology to good use.

Mystical Writings of Bah'u'llh
With Ashkan Monfared

The "mystical" writings of Baha'u'llah are those which address the human soul's journey from its earthly abode, to its heavenly goal of "perpetual union with God." In the Seven Valleys, described by Shoghi Effendi as Baha'u'llah's "greatest mystical composition," He describes the seven stages which the soul of the seeker must traverse in order to attain "the object of its existence." This is the subject of this program, Baha'u'llah's Writings on attainment of the knowledge of God, including the Seven Valleys and other Writings less familiar to the friends in the West.  Baha'u'llah approves some of the concepts of the spiritual philosophers, and rejects others. For example, He teaches that man's knowledge of God is through the Manifestation of God in each Age, not by direct contact of the human soul with the Essence of God.  For clarification of this profound subject, the Writings of the Central Figures of the Faith and the beloved Guardian will be consulted. Lectures and group discussion on the individual Valleys will enhance participants' ability to draw upon this spiritual nourishment and enhance their ability to share the knowledge of God with others.

Scholarships are available.
