Exciting News

As many of you already know, staff has been working on a new website template from the UUA. The even better news is that we are working with a firm who is making "behind the scenes" upgrades that give us flexibility in providing up-to-date information in a format that is easy for our Communications Coordinator, Carli Magel,  to update daily. These "plug-ins" will keep the site current with the ability to make changes in the future as well.

Carli and I interviewed several potential developers and decided upon Stick Out Social whose associates seemed to understand our needs, our desire to use the UUA template, yet make it more flexible and forward capable behind the scenes. Stick Out Social has been making changes over the past several weeks and migrating our information to the new format. Click here to read more.

Open for Good openforgood
The Pledge Drive co-chairs, Chris Allender and Jim Clark, want to thank you for making this year's Pledge Drive a great success.  It was the goal of the Pledge Drive to raise $560,000. As of now, the Pledge Drive has raised $559,320 or 99.5% for the 2016-17 church year. In addition to pledging your financial support for the many important projects our church participates in and those it might undertake in the next year, we also want to thank you for speaking with the visiting stewards and for sharing your thoughts about the future of UCE.  We hope your conversation helped you feel more connected to UCE.

With your continued financial support, UCE will continue to grow its programs and its participation in the community, region and the world, and in our denominational activities.  Your support also allows UCE to pay it professional and part time hourly staff an appropriate wage commensurate with persons in the same or similar position in other UU congregations.

We appreciate what you do for UCE, whether through financial support or the time and talents you share.

With your support we will keep UCE Open for Good

Fall? It is barely summer!  Yes, but it is time to think about our annual UCE Fall Weekend.  The deadline for registering is in August and that will come quickly.  Sign up now before the rooms fill up!

We will be near Lake Geneva in a beautiful wooded setting just down the road from the old venue at George Williams College.  This year we're going to Inspiration Retreat Center in Walworth WI.

Join us Friday, September 30 to Sunday, October 2 (with an option for a third night Thursday).  We will laugh together, play together, eat together, learn together, worship together (and have free time to get away from it all)!

The prices this year will be the same as last year: $100/person/night for a shared room or $150/person/night for a single.  This includes all meals from Friday evening's dinner through Sunday's lunch.

Sign up now by sending an email at pegboc@ameritech.net or seeing Peggy Boccard,  Rebecca Fischer, or Luanne Vanderpool at the tables in the back of the sanctuary on June 12 or most Sundays throughout the summer.  Questions?  Talk to Peggy Boccard, Rebecca Fischer, or Luanne Vanderpool.
