Covenant and Collective Action"
Ours is a faith guided by covenant. As Unitarian Universalists, we believe that some things are better accomplished in community. A spiritual life is one of those. Social justice work is another. Join us for a service of rhythm, music, covenantal community and collective action. Matt Meyer speaking.
Matt is a musician and community organizer who has lead hundreds services for UU congregations across the country. He has a degree in music and has studied abroad in Cuba, Ghana and Central America. Matt is a founding resident of the Lucy Stone Cooperative in Boston and serves as Director of Community Life for Sanctuary Boston.

"Modern and Contemporary Art"
Prior to the 19th Century, painting was largely representational, although there were significant stylistic trends. The advent of photography and other technological changes have accelerated changes in art. We will start with an extremely brief review of art history including Impressionism, Fauvism, Cubism, Dadaism, Surrealism, Pop to Modern and Contemporary art. Then we will have an even briefer review of music, which is totally non-representational. Using a few well known works as representatives, we will encourage opinions from everyone and their ideas as to the purpose and benefit of art. Discussion Leader: Scot Campbell
