We are already hard at work, in making this event the best Relay for Life EVER!!! However, we could use your help. The event is planned for May 2nd, at Road Atlanta. It will begin on Friday night (5/2/14) and run overnight. We will have survivors from many walks of life and forms of cancer to head up our laps (each hour). The Hall County Sheriff's Office will be represented as the "Hall County Sheriff's Office Sole Patrol"!
We would like to invite you and your family to join in on the fun, by signing up on our team. I have included a link on this email for the website where you may sign up. Create an account, join our team and let the fun begin. Our goal is to collect $4,500.00 for the relay. If you choose not to participate in the walk, or if someone wishes to sponsor you, this may also be done at the website. Just follow this link: http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?fr_id=60185&pg=team&team_id=1542337
You may encourage others to join our Sole Patrol by sharing the page on Facebook, or liking via Facebook. We appreciate your participation and eagerly await our date to stomp out the disease!!!
Let's make strides to find a cure, together...

Giving back to the Community
Road Maintenance, Fleet Maintenance and Traffic Engineery Staff Community Service Project
The Road Maintenance Division, Fleet Maintenance Division and Traffic Engineering Staff recently had the opportunity to partner with one of our local community providers. The staff donated two big barrels of food and another one of toys to the local Georgia Food Bank to help people in need during the Christmas season. All of the employees experienced a very high level of satisfaction knowing that they were able to give back to the community during the holiday season. A very special thanks goes out to everyone for donating so generously and understanding the importance of this project. We would like to challenge all departments to do this next year as it is always better to "give than to receive".

MIS
If you have a habit of not including attachments on e-mails or thinking of a change after hitting send, here is a tip on delaying all e-mails you send. This will allow you to make any changes or get that attachment in before it's sent.
- In Outlook, click the Rules icon (it's on the toolbar at the top of the main Outlook window) and choose Manage Rules and Alerts.
- Click New Rule...
- Click the option for Apply rule on messages I send then hit Next.
- Do not choose any conditions and hit Next again. A warning will pop up, click Yes to continue.
- Click the checkbox beside defer delivery by a number of minutes.
- In the bottom section of the dialog, click a number of (it will be highlighted blue) and it will prompt you for a number. 1 is the default. This determines how long Outlook will delay the sending of your e-mails. Leave it at 1 or specify a different value. Hit Ok.
- Click Next again.
- If you want to specify an exception, like don't delay any messages marked as high priority, click the check box beside the value in the list and be sure to click the underlined blue word at the bottom section to specify any values.
- Hit Finish.
Now, any time you send an e-mail, the message will be held in the Outbox for 1 minute (or however long you specified) giving you the opportunity to edit the e-mail before it goes out.
Your first call should be the Hall County Help Desk at 770-531-6704. The Help Desk is available for any County computer work-related issue Monday-Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
If your need is less urgent, you can also email the Help Desk, and a technician will contact you. |
