 The Five Elements and The Jewish Calendar

 
Please join us this Sukkot for an evening of learning and sweet dessert treats at our Sukkah and in our home. We will discover the deep earth wisdom embedded in the  Jewish cycle of holidays. East meets West as we delve into the transformation of the five elements -water, tree, fire, earth and metal- as expressed within the cycle of the Jewish calendar.

Autumn Eco-Tefilah Hike

   Benedict Pond, Beartown State Forest, Monterey,MA

Welcome the Autumn day through  prayer, walking meditation and  song in  the beautiful Berkshires. An  alternative  siddur designed for this  hike will be  provided. Please bring  bug spray and  water, and a tallit if  you so choose. We will  meet in the  first parking lot.  All are  welcome.

 

 

From Great Barrington and points south: Take Rt. 7 north. Shortly before Price Chopper (next to the old Friendly's) turn right onto Blue Hill Rd. Go 1.4 miles and turn left onto Monument Valley Road. Go .9 mile and take first right onto Stoney Brook Rd.  Stoney Brook Rd. will become Blue Hill Rd. in Monterey. Turn left onto Benedict Pond Rd. and follow signs for the pond. Park in the first parking lot.

Autumn Eco-Tefilah Hike

Harvey Mountain State Park, Austerlitz,NY

Join us for another morning prayer hike
at the peak of Autumn on the peak of Harvey Mountain. This hike will be moderately strenuous and uphill for approximately 30 minutes. We will hold an alternative morning service at the top of the mountain. A siddur/prayerbook designed for this hike will be  provided. Please bring bug spray and water, and a tallit if  you so choose.

From Gt. Barrington:

Rt. 71 west to Rt. 22 north (right turn) Pass Route 203- from this point continue another 2.3 miles on Rt. 22. Turn right onto East Hill Road (sign says:Millay at Steepletop) . Go .4 to the entrance to Harvey Mt State Park. Turn left and drive into the park approximately 1.2 miles (beautiful views) to the yellow gate on the left at the trailhead to the summit.  

 

From West Stockbridge: Rt. 102 west to Rt. 22 South. Turn left on Rt. 22 S. Go 2.1 miles and turn left onto East Hill Road (sign says:Millay at Steepletop) . Go .4 to the entrance to Harvey Mt State Park. Turn left and drive into the park approximately 1.2 miles (beautiful views) to the yellow gate on the left at the trailhead to the summit.

 Introduction to Jewish Mysticism

This three-class series, will explore the history and development of Jewish mysticism over the ages. Foundational concepts of Jewish mysticism will be presented through text study from the 13th century mystical masterpiece, the Zohar.

 

 

Fee: $60 for the series (all three classes)

         Individual classes can be attended for $25/class

         Reduced fee available

Mysticism of the Aleph-Bet

Discover the deep mysticism of the Hebrew alphabet. Often described as a depth language, the letters of the Hebrew language contain within them worlds of Jewish spiritual knowledge, ethics and values. Join us as we decode and reveal the spiritual wisdom lying within the letters. No prior knowledge of Hebrew necessary. 

 

 

Fee: $120 for the series
