Little Known Facts
  • In every episode of Seinfeld there was a Superman somewhere.
  • David Prowse was the guy in the Darth Vader suit in Star Wars.  He spoke all of Vader's lines, and didn't know that he was going to be dubbed over by James Earl Jones until he saw the screening of the movie.

5th Annual Community Golf Classic

The 5th Annual Battlement Mesa / Parachute Community Golf Classic is scheduled for Saturday September 26th.

The annual 4-person scramble tournament is a fund raising event with 100% of the net proceeds going toward Battlement Mesa's new Community Park Project.

This fun event, which is held at the beautiful Battlement Mesa Golf Course, has raised significant funds that have, in part, enabled the Battlement Mesa / Parachute community to complete phase II of the park project.  Although the park will begin to look like a real park by this fall when phase II is completed, more needs to be done.  The funds raised by this event will certainly help complete the park.

If you would like to become a sponsor or just learn more about the event, contact Caitlin Geoggoff at 970.285.0388, Chuck Curtis at 970.285.PAR4, or Mary Anderson at 970.285.0388.

...Turkey Trail Park!

As previously reported, in early 2015, the BMSA submitted and was awarded a mini grant by the Associated Governments of Northwest Colorado (AGNC) for the development of a master plan for the 2.6 acres that the BMSA owns that is along County Road 300 between the Colorado River bridge (coming from Parachute) and the Water Fall.

The Master Plan for the 2.6 acre, Turkey Trail Park, was unveiled at the August 2015 BMSA meeting.

The Library Trail that was constructed a couple of years ago runs along the west and the south side of the proposed park site.
