American Red Cross Assistance Available for 
Lake Houston Area Residents
 
Houston, TX - Due to the recent significant flooding along the San Jacinto River and its tributaries and the high waters that have impacted resident's homes and properties, the American Red Cross will be mobilizing a temporary distribution center today at Foster Elementary School located at 1800 Trailwood Village, Humble,TX 77339.

The center will be open today from 1:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. and tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. to distribute clean-up kits, food and water to affected residents in the Kingwood area. Should residents have any particular questions regarding what will be available they are encouraged to call the American Red Cross at (713) 526-8300 or Council Member Martin's office at (832) 393-3008.

Residents needing rescue assistance should call 911.  Avoid driving or walking through high water. Turn around, don't drown!

The City of Houston is conducting damage assessments in the area. If you have not reported damage to your home or business to Houston's 311 helpline (3-1-1, 713-837-0311 or houston311.org), please do so.  Additional safety tips can be found in the "After the Flood" publication available at houstonrecovers.org.
