Construction Begins on Clear Lake City Boulevard Extension

Houston, TX - Beginning this week, construction will begin on the extension of Clear Lake City Boulevard from its current four lane terminus east to the intersection of El Dorado Boulevard in Clear Lake. Construction crews will construct two additional lanes to the north of the existing lanes and will be on site beginning at 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Should weather impact the schedule, construction could take place on Saturdays.

The infrastructure improvements are being made in compliance with the City of Houston's 380 economic development agreement and to support the construction of the new Clear Lake Marketplace commercial development and Reserve at Clear Lake City residential community.

During construction, flagmen will be onsite to aide in directing traffic. Council Member Martin's office has also notified the Houston Police Department's Clear Lake substation and requested officers to monitor traffic in this area particularly around rush hour and at the time students are released from school.

Roadway construction is expected to be complete by the beginning of October. Following the project's completion, contractors will begin work on the installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection at Clear Lake City Boulevard at El Dorado Boulevard.

Council Member Martin's office will continue to keep the public updated on the status of construction. Please note that all project timelines are subject to change. For questions or concerns, please contact the District E office at (832) 393-3008 or via email at [email protected].
