Chess Club Program 2 Registration Now Open!

Coach Chouchan (pronounced Shoushan) Airapetian is the IMS Chess Club Coach. She is an accomplished coach and her focus is to help students learn and master chess while players are having an exceptional experience: fun!
We have 2 programs all year around. Chess Club Program 1 starts from September and go till end of June, Program 2 began in February, but there is still room to register! We meet in Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in the IMS Library (temporarily in the old Student Center). There are activity buses to take students home.
Practicing chess for one hour weekly can make a significant impact on a student's grade, strategic thinking and brain development, and improve his social skills in long-term development.

IMS Golf Time to Swing into Action!
Registration for the IMS Golf Program officially opens Monday morning, March 28. This is a popular spring program run by MIHS Varsity Golf Coach, Tyson Peters, with help from MIHS players on the boys teams. If interested in signing up your son, fill out the attached registration packet. Each golfer can attend one session a week (schedule below). This year the format has changed with one session geared toward beginner/intermediate golfers (Wednesday) and the other is geared toward advanced golfers (Thursday). Please note that preference will be given to 7th and 8th grade boys on Thursday, so an advanced 6th grader should list both days.
Please note that this program fills up quickly, as there are limited spots available. Registration is on a first come/first serve basis and in order for the packet to be accepted, all forms and payment must be included (registration form, medical waiver and bus permission form). Please return completed packets to Patty McCann in the IMS administration office, beginning Monday morning (Patty will not accept them prior to this time). Registration closes on Friday, April 1. Once all of your forms have been received, you will be sent an email confirmation that assures your son's spot.
