SAIL MAGAZINE NAMES GUNBOAT 55 2015 FLAGSHIP MULTIHULL

SAIL's 2015 'Flagship Multihull' GUNBOAT 55

The GUNBOAT 55 has been crowned the Flagship Multihull in SAIL Magazine's 2015 Best Boat Awards. The top honor, which was announced in the magazine's December issue, describes the 55 as "a fantastic sailing machine" and highlights the boat's innovations in design, construction, and performance. Biding your time patiently while your dream boat is built might be tough at times, but a taste of the magic that awaits can make the time a bit more bearable. Such was the case with GUNBOAT 55-03 Owners Chris and Carolyn Groobey, who recently caught a ride on GUNBOAT 55-01. "The Reverend" Petey Crawford came along as well and captured the two-day trip from Annapolis to Wanchese on camera. GUNBOAT G4-01 was removed from the mold last week. Another monumental achievement, this milestone marks the beginning of small part and systems installation. The G4 team continues to push forward, with sights set on a February completion date and sea trials slated for Miami this spring. The International Sailing Summit was held November 17th in Amsterdam. Gunboat Founder and CEO Peter Johnstone joined the impressive lineup of speakers, giving a heartfelt account of his experiences building a brand and driving innovation in sailing. He spoke passionately about Gunboat's successes and candidly explained some of the more difficult times. A must see for Gunboat fans and anyone excited about the future of sailing, Peter's presentation and the entire ISS convention can be found online here.

GUNBOAT 60-05 PRANA

We are excited to announce the launch of the newest GUNBOAT 60, PRANA. Systems testing is complete and the boat is undergoing final completion and preparation for delivery to the US. Sea trials will be conducted in North Carolina early next year. Big congratulations to the owners and the entire Gunboat team! We can't wait to see PRANA stateside!

GUNBOAT CLASS REGATTA CIRCUIT

GUNBOAT Class fun at the 2013 Heineken Regatta

The mass migration south is well underway, and at least ten GUNBOATs are expected to spend the season in the Caribbean. The GUNBOAT Class regatta circuit is taking shape with participation planned for four regattas. First up, the Caribbean 600 in late February, followed by the Heineken Regatta in March, and both Les Voiles de St Barth and Antigua Sailing Week in April. The GUNBOAT Class rating, rule, and scoring system is in place and participation has been confirmed by multiple boats. Stay tuned for further details, pictures, and videos from these events!

MIAMI BOAT SHOW

GUNBOAT 60 FLOW at the Miami Show in February

The Strictly Sail Miami Show is right around the corner. "The South's favorite show for sailors" will be held at Miamarina at Bayside Park February 12-16.
