The United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis proved to be a great success again this year. The gorgeous GUNBOAT 55 and GUNBOAT 60 drew large crowds all weekend despite the less than ideal weather. Feedback for the brand new 55 was phenomenal across the board and SAIL, Sailing World, and Cruising World magazines all honored the boat with nominations for their Best Boat and Boat of the Year awards. Big breeze moved in at the show's conclusion, providing  an excellent opportunity for prospect and media demo sails. Stay tuned for photos and video!
VANDALISM
GUNBOAT 55-02 VANDAL

GUNBOAT 55-02 began owner sea trials last week in Wanchese. A powerful Northwester moved in over the weekend allowing the owner to experience boat-handling in storm conditions. With Gunboat founder Peter Johnstone and other key personnel onboard, VANDAL was put through the paces. 6-7 ft seas and 30 kts winds proved to be no problem for the boat; she performed beautifully, hitting top speeds of 25kts!
GALLEY-UP

In addition to thrilling speed and dependable safety, VANDAL also boasts stunning aesthetics. The first of the galley-up GUNBOAT 55s, the main salon seamlessly integrates cooking, helming, lounging, and entertaining spaces. Sleek white paint, rich, slate-colored Corian, brushed stainless, natural Ultraleather, and raw teak come together to create the perfect synergy of stylish comfort. Custom graphics throughout the yacht complete VANDAL's jaw dropping design. This GUNBOAT is a stunner!
YARD PARTY
RAINMAKER Capt Chris Bailet toasts the Gunboat staff

After a wildly successful first season, GUNBOAT 55-01 RAINMAKER has returned to her roots in Wanchese for a quick tuneup before heading south to the Caribbean. Owner Brian Cohen celebrated RAINMAKER's homecoming, hosting an end-of-week yard party for the Gunboat staff on a gorgeous October afternoon. Boat Captain Chris Bailet spoke on Brian's behalf, honoring the artisan boat builders who brought the yacht to life and thanking everyone for their contributions to what he described as "breathtaking beauty and amazing performance." Cheers to you, Brian!
SAIL MAGAZINE REVIEW
SAIL's Peter Nielsen feeling at home at the helm on 55-01

SAIL Editor Peter Nielsen shares his thoughts on the GUNBOAT 55 in the November issue of SAIL Magazine. The review took place in July when Peter joined GUNBOAT 55-01 RAINMAKER for a brief cruise in New England. After meeting the boat in Larchmont, NY, Peter and crew took part in a little friendly competition, sailing alongside GUNBOAT 62 ELVIS and GUNBOAT 60 FAULT TOLERANT in a casual race around the buoys. The following day, RAINMAKER moved north to Newport, arriving in time to catch the afternoon's NYYC Race Week action. The two day trip wrapped with a gorgeous sunset sail against an idyllic Newport backdrop. Peter summed up his experience nicely, "Every once in a while in the charmed life of a sailboat reviewer, you step aboard a boat that becomes the yardstick by which you will measure all others in its category. For me, the GUNBOAT 55 is one such boat." Read his complete review here.
