CLEAN SWEEP
 | GUNBOAT 55-01 RAINMAKER
|
After a multiple year hiatus, we were thrilled to return to the Newport International Boat Show with two stunning boats, GUNBOAT 55-01 RAINMAKER and GUNBOAT 60-01 FAULT TOLERANT. The show marked the debut of the North Carolina built GUNBOAT 55 and the response was overwhelmingly positive. The Newport for New Products program, which recognizes innovation, value, and aesthetics, showered the 55 with accolades including honors for Best New Sailboat Over 30', Best Sailboat Overall, and the People's Choice Award. Our most heartfelt gratitude goes out to our team, our vendors, the media and our extended Gunboat family for their unwavering support over the last 15 years.

A-TEAM
 | Alex, Christina, Meg, Lauren, and Sofia
|
Great brands attract great people, and we feel very fortunate to have the some of the most intelligent and beautiful women in the industry helping to drive our success. Gunboat's dynamic Sales and Marketing duo Meg Minetree and Lauren Battaile were supported at NIBS by some incredible talent. Longtime brand ambassador Alexandra Aponte, competitive sailor Christina Mayor, and Newport native Sofia Gineo rounded out the ultimate boat show staff. Big thanks to the ladies for their contagious smiles, serious sailing chops, and enthusiasm for all things Gunboat. Looking forward to seeing and sailing with each of you again soon!

MEDIA FRENZY
 | 55-01 Turning heads in Newport
|
In addition to the wonderful response the GUNBOAT 55 received at the Newport show, we have had the good fortune of creating quite a buzz in the media. Peter Johnstone first introduced the completed GUNBOAT 55 in the current issue of Seahorse Magazine; reviews by George Day of Multihulls Quarterly and Charles Doane of SAILfeed soon followed. Bill Springer shared his experience aboard the 55 on his blog, and perhaps most notably, Dan Fisher profiled 55-01 Owner Brian Cohen and his beloved RAINMAKER in a recent Forbes Life feature. We are beyond grateful to have our efforts recognized and thrilled with all the positive feedback.

VINEYARD RACE
 | GUNBOAT 60 FAULT TOLERANT
|
The Stamford Yacht Club's annual Vineyard race provided the perfect opportunity for GUNBOAT 55 RAINMAKER and GUNBOAT 60 FAULT TOLERANT to enjoy Labor Day weekend with family and friends on the water. Both crews enjoyed easy sail handling and high performance in complete comfort. FAULT TOLERANT's race crew was comprised of three generations: husband and wife, their two boys, and the family's 87 year old patriarch, while RAINMAKER's crew included the owner and his two sons. Elapsed times were among the fastest in the fleet and most importantly, a good time was had by all.

G4--01 Side hulls cured and released from the mold
|
GUNBOAT G4-01 is beginning to take shape in Holland. Proof this series isn't "vaporware," Hull 01 has been cured and released from the molds. The build team is reporting spot on weights and dimensions. This is a monumental step towards Gunboat's first foiling cat and we couldn't be more excited. To learn more about the G4, visit our website, check out the design preview, or contact Meg Minetree directly for details.

GUNBOAT G4 team members Mischa Heemskerk and Pieterjan Dwarshuis have been known to push the limits, and lately they've shown no signs of slowing down. Mischa recently crushed the Dutch A-Class nationals with his fully foiling DNA, and together with Pieterjan, flew through the GC32 Marseille One Design Cup. Top boat speeds reached 35kts and the team came away from the regatta with excellent experience to be applied to the G4.

MOULDCAM FACTORY TOUR
 | CNC machine at MouldCAM's Bristol facility
|
While in Rhode Island, Gunboat dropped by MouldCAM's new US headquarters for a tour. Housing their new, large format 5-Axis CNC machine, the state of the art facility is quite impressive. Currently contracted to build the deck mold for the GUNBOAT 78, we anticipate many future collaborations with MouldCAM. Thanks to JB and the team for the tour. We wish you all the best of luck!
