A Word from the Director:
Thanks to a Facebook friend, the word for this week came to me this morning like a freight train - the word is competition. In business, it is what drives us to work harder, smarter, and keep up with the ongoing tasks of constantly improving efficiency, customer service, and the bottom line. Competition is at its core is a good thing that should produce positive results, provided we remember that making businesses the best they can be is the motivation. Sometimes, however, the biggest competition we face is ourselves, in overcoming our own obstacles ~ perhaps disorganization, grouchy spirit, complacency, or just lack of knowing what to do. Those personal malfunctions will trickle down to our business, employees, and ultimately our business and personal success. If you are fortunate enough to be able to pinpoint the areas in which improvement is needed, whether personally, socially, or in business - the best thing to do is to grab hold of it and strive to bring it to a better level. My goal for this Chamber, your Chamber, is to bring it to be the very best that it can be - and help each and every one of you market and network to Madison County and beyond more than ever before. If you are not taking advantage of the services we offer as part of your membership, we stand ready to help you get your edge on your competition.
Warmly,
Cindy Vees |
