It's certainly a wonderful thing to have Human Design knowledge in one's life. Its primary purpose is for us to gradually surrender to our Strategy and Authority and in doing so get our life back on track. The majority of people simply 'give up' on themselves and the life that they can live. They compromise, get overwhelmed by homogenized communication that says so little and they solidify in Not-Self patterns and wait to die. A harsh statement I grant you, but its truth is everywhere to be seen.

I would like to highlight the application of the knowledge in this article in regard to Witnessing. It is a continuous delight for me to bridge the gap between the knowledge and the application of the knowledge. For instance, have you seen what an open Root and Sacral center leads to? Yes, they are open centers that produce the 'not knowing when enough is enough' and 'a tendency to hurry from outside pressure'. But have you seen how this works while they are walking or driving? It creates difficulty in keeping to a steady speed, sometimes speeding up unconsciously, or losing speed without noticing. They often lock in behind a 'steady' driver, who has consistency in their driving speeds, which can reduce the pressure and allow them to relax more, knowing they simply have to keep up with the car in front. When walking, there is a tendency to wander more (especially if in a receptive fixed body), to dither even and then to be carried away by a fixed Sacral and Root as it passes by.  Almost like the effect the wake of a large lorry has passing a car on the motorway.

Have you watched the different circuits play out in the mind? A purely abstract definition will filter life's experiences through expectation of experiences yet to come. Even if there is no emotional Solar Plexus defined, there will be the rise of hope and the crash of disappointment, for these minds often think that their expectations have a logical consistency they never actually have. While the logical mind can be so judgmental, it can flick at an opposing view with astonishing speed. Consider the apparent craziness individual minds can blurt out insights as if they are something really important, which they can be, to them anyway, in that moment. Then suddenly the thought has gone. The rush of the babble is released and the retort of the other's appreciation or lack thereof.

To watch what comes to you, without resistance is a joy and a fascination. That is the way my receptive mind enjoys the life that comes to me. It's how I extend my knowledge of Human Design, seeing it applied in my life and in the lives of those around me.

I had a wonderful example of this application the other day. Moving up the East coast of Australia, I was blessed to stay with friends who had a 5 year-old phenomenon (see chart above). A child that was fully defined in every center apart from the Head. Wow, what an irrepressible creature she was! Her mother, a Mental Projector with just the 17/62, finding it challenging to cope with her four motored, single definition child. So much energy to use up during the day - she was always playing. She ran to the nearby post box and back 10 times, racing against herself while the adults sat and ate lunch. Using her Channel of Surrender to transmit the assignment of the various adults' roles in her constructed fantasy. I was given the role of Guard, who had to either salute her, or bow to her when she passed by; the command being given by a series of two or three hand-claps. A five-year-old whose eloquence and originality was extraordinary thanks to her individual 43/23 Mental Channel and her insatiable Stream of Taste continually refining her connections to the outside world. Her emotional wave, key to her Sun Personality always feeling into those she was speaking to.  An amazing example of Design in action and whichever way you see it - an amazing little girl. She may be hiring some of us in the future! 

So I encourage all of you to get the data of those around you, to see the miracle of life through the application of what you know from the teachings. The knowledge is a joy, a refuge from the crushing mundanity of living in a material world and a way to deepen the experience of your own life. How fortunate we all are to have such a resource.
