Your Marketing Moxie.
How's it going to help you?
Marketing Moxie is a combination of my involvement in advertising and marketing for over 40 years, beginning when only 16. My involvement has provided me with the opportunity to surround myself with individuals and businesses throughout the United States who have helped provide proven marketing strategies. Formal education as well as good old 'college of hard knocks' rounds out my skills and techniques to provide individuals and businesses with what is needed to market their businesses to achieve the best ROI for their marketing $$$'s.
So...let's share our Marketing Moxie with you, too!!!
As I was thinking about the name for this newsletter, the obvious names came to mind like "Marketing for Your Business" or "The Marketing Edge." b B O R I N G..... I wanted to have a name that allowed us the license to be a bit over the top with our advice and comments. That's when the word moxie surfaced. It fits me, my team and our crazy, out-of-the-box ideas.

In researching the meaning of the word, one word to define moxie was audacity. As I thought about the word, I thought maybe our readers would be offended by such a word. I did a bit of research on the word and found a famous quote by Jean Cocteau*. Check him out.
His quote was, "Tact in audacity consists in knowing how far we may go too far."
Audacity has its place in marketing. It's the in your face, out-of-the-box, shock your audience kind of moment. Audacity captures your customer's attention.
When you say to someone, "Have a great day." Their reaction is typically a smile or no reaction at all. It's what is expected. But what if you say, "I hope you have a lousy, awful day." Their reaction will be totally different. They may think to themselves, "Why did you say that? Or, if they know you very well, they'll say, "Same to you, too." You will certainly get a reaction.
Marketing or let's call it what it really is ... ADVERTISING ... is that intrusion to the mind to react. Without the tact of audacity, your marketing efforts will go unnoticed.
So use audacity in your marketing messages and have a wonderfully crappy day,
Alyse
