"CONNECTING KIDS TO CHRIST" VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
July and August, 2016 | Summer Camps
Summer in the inner city is filled with hunger, danger, and hopelessness for the children who live there. Gifts For All God's Children (GFAGC) has a continuing mission to share the love of Christ with these children and to connect them to a local church where they can find food for body and soul, safety, and hope for the future.
Two weeks of "Connecting Kids to Christ" Summer Camp have been planned at East Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 3510 E. Outer Drive in Detroit: July 11-15 and August 8-12, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED! You can be a part of God's exciting work in Detroit. It's a wonderful opportunity for individuals and youth groups to serve through a local "mission trip" experience. Contact Carlyn Roth at 313.892.2670 or [email protected].
WEAR YOUR PEARLS ON JULY 31
Women of the Pearl: Pearls for Medina
Medina, a woman reached by Women of the Pearl Ministry, is being baptized on July 31 in Uganda. Medina expressed the desire for Baptism four years ago, but her Muslim family and culture have prevented it. When she is baptized, she will lose her whole family immediately. To show her love and support, Christian women are asked to wear pearls (real or fake) that Sunday and post a photo of themselves wearing pearls on Women of the Pearl's Facebook page together with words of encouragement. Share this information with the ladies in your congregations. Let's show Medina how large her new Christian family is!
