RV Manufacturers' Advisory Sub-Committee Charter

Composition

  • The RV Manufacturers' Advisory Sub-Committee is accountable to the Board of the Caravan Industry Association of Australia Ltd;
  • The RV Manufacturers' Advisory Sub-Committee is comprised of seven RV Manufacturers who have an interest in having issues relating to RV manufacturing heard, and who wish to take an active role in addressing these issues;
  • Nominations for suitable persons will be called for by RVM Australia and Caravan, RV & Accommodation Industry of Australia Ltd in April 2014 ahead of the commencement of operations by Caravan Industry Association of Australia Ltd in July 2014.  A nomination form will be provided requesting areas of interest and expertise.  The final composition of the RV Manufacturers' Advisory Sub-Committee will be determined through a voting process by members of Caravan Industry Association of Australia Ltd, in accordance with the voting rights provided under the adopted constitution of Caravan Industry Association of Australia Ltd.
  • The RV Manufacturers' Advisory Sub-Committee will have a Chairman as appointed by the Board of the Caravan Industry Association of Australia Ltd.  The foundation Chairman will be current RVM Australia board member Terry Steel of Jurgens Australia;
  • The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Caravan Industry Association of Australia Ltd are ex-officio members of the RV Manufacturers' Advisory Sub-Committee;
  • The RV Manufacturers' Advisory Sub-Committee is serviced by the staff of Caravan Industry Association of Australia Ltd through the  attendance at its meetings;
  • Members of the RV Manufacturers' Advisory Sub-Committee shall be appointed for a term of one year, with individuals encouraged to nominate for extended terms.  There is no maximum term subject to each year, a nomination and voting process will be conducted.  Those members of the Sub-Committee who do not attend at least 2/3 of the scheduled meetings during the term will be ineligible to nominate for the following term;
  • Members of the RV Manufacturers' Advisory Sub-Committee will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement; and
  • The RV Manufacturers' Advisory Sub-Committee will meet a minimum of three times annually; generally meetings will occur 4-6 weeks prior to a Caravan Industry Association of Australia Ltd Board meeting, and in conjunction with other National Committee meetings or industry events.  Members of the RV Manufacturers' Advisory Sub-Committee will be required to fund their personal expenses associated with attendance at meetings.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

The RV Manufacturers' Advisory Sub-Committee will:

  • Consider issues relating to RV manufacturing, compliance, and distribution into the Australian retail market;
  • Contribute their valuable industry expertise as it relates to RV manufacturing, and where necessary undertake projects on behalf of the industry, as approved in advance by the board of the Caravan Industry Association of Australia Ltd;
  • If appropriate, make recommendations for consideration by the Caravan Industry Association of Australia Ltd board on matters relating to expenditure, compliance, and strategy;
  • Under the terms of the Constitution of the Caravan Industry Association of Australia Ltd the RV Manufacturers' Advisory Sub-Committee has no direct authority to commit Caravan Industry Association of Australia Ltd funds to projects, events or similar.
