The summer season is upon us and we are busy planning and executing our events across the country in the coming months that will honor, respect, remember and support our amazing men and women in the military, our veterans and their families.

Although we primarily are involved in raising money for our American Heroes through golf, we have been humbled over the past few months by many generous people who have helped raise money on behalf of Tee it up for the Troops. It goes to show that there are many creative ways to raise money to help the cause and have a major impact.  Here are a few examples of their amazing efforts and generosity.

• Just this past Memorial Day a handful of young kids in Burnsville, Minnesota, wanted to raise money so they sold suckers in their neighborhood to raise $30. 

• Tee it up for the Troops alumni, and our good friends, Neil Duncan and Mike Reeder each helped raise funds to give back to our organization to support our mission.  Neil raised $2,500 through Operation: Aconcagua.  Mike helped raise $2,000 at a golf event in Franklin, Tennessee.
• The Ladies Golf Association at Buckeye Hills Country Club in Greenfield, Ohio raised nearly $1,000 at their annual Invitational.  This years charity of choice was Tee it up for the Troops.
• Think Bank in Rochester, Minnesota, donated $2 for every "Like" they received on their Facebook page during a two week period in late May. 
• This Friday, June 21 and 22, the Edible Arrangements in Roseville, Minnesota, will be honoring our men and women in the military and our veterans with special deals and profits of special items going to Tee it up for the Troops.  Only orders placed on these days and at this participating store will qualify for this fundraiser.

Proverbs 11:24 tells us, "One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want."  It is awesome to see the effect generosity has not only in the lives who receive our assistance, but the effect generosity has on the lives of the individuals who continue to give freely time-after-time to help support our American Heroes.  Thanks you to these members of the Tee it up for the Troops family and their efforts.  These efforts will go a long way in supporting our mission.
