LCAP Groups Hold Joint Meeting: June 4
Members of the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC), and the Educator Advisory Committee (EAC) have been meeting throughout the school  year to provide feedback on the first year's implementation of the Local Control & Accountability Plan (LCAP). These three groups will be meeting jointly on Thursday, June 4th at 6:30 p.m. at Longfellow Middle School to review and discuss updates to the LCAP (2015-16). (The full draft plan is available online.)

State-mandated changes to the LCAP include the new plan template and new metrics for measuring student outcomes. Some of the actions being considered for changes in the plan include:
  • Increase RtI2 support in the middle schools,
  • Expand mental health partnership to all schools,
  • Hire Teacher on Special Assignment focused on recruitment and retention of teachers of color,
  • Expand restorative justice practices, including pilot projects in grades K-5 and 9-12, and a middle school partnership with SEEDS.
A public hearing on the LCAP is being held at the June 10th Board Meeting.  Further information on the public comment process is available here.
