Industry B2B Sessions at this Year's Hawaii Tourism Conference

This year the HTA's Hawaii Tourism Conference will feature a new and exciting opportunity for attendees to 'roll up' their sleeves and network one-on-one with national and international tour operators and wholesalers through the Getting Down to Business - Industry Shirt-Sleeve Sessions. The pre-scheduled seven-minute appointments provide an efficient way to discuss your product (e.g. hotel, activity, attraction), maximize opportunities, and network with key members of the visitor industry.

Twenty-seven major tour operators and wholesalers from North America, Japan, China, Korea, Australia and New Zealand will be represented. To see the full list of participating tour operators/wholesalers, click here

Taiwan Emerging as Important Market for Our Tourism Industry

Taiwan is becoming another market with vast growth opportunity for Hawaii's visitor industry. With a population of more than 23 million, a stable economy, and nearly 40 percent of the population traveling overseas, there is tremendous potential for this market.

In November 2012, Taiwan became a part of the U.S. Visa Waiver Program which makes visiting the U.S. and the Hawaiian Islands an easier process for Taiwanese visitors. Soon after, both China and Hawaiian Airlines announced that they would offer nonstop service from Honolulu to Taipei beginning in June and July 2013, respectively.

HTA recognizes the use of the 'okina ['] or glottal stop, one of the eight consonants of the (modern) Hawaiian language; and the kahakō[ā] or macron (e.g., in place names of  Hawai'i such as Lāna'i).  However, HTA respects the individual use of these markings for names of organizations and businesses.  Due to technological limitations, this current communication may not include all Hawaiian diacritical markings.
