Industry B2B Sessions at this Year's Hawaii Tourism Conference

This year the HTA's Hawaii Tourism Conference will feature a new and exciting opportunity for attendees to 'roll up' their sleeves and network one-on-one with national and international tour operators and wholesalers through the Getting Down to Business - Industry Shirt-Sleeve Sessions. The pre-scheduled seven-minute appointments provide an efficient way to discuss your product (e.g. hotel, activity, attraction), maximize opportunities, and network with key members of the visitor industry.
Twenty-seven major tour operators and wholesalers from North America, Japan, China, Korea, Australia and New Zealand will be represented. To see the full list of participating tour operators/wholesalers, click here

Taiwan Emerging as Important Market for Our Tourism Industry

Taiwan is becoming another market with vast growth opportunity for Hawaii's visitor industry. With a population of more than 23 million, a stable economy, and nearly 40 percent of the population traveling overseas, there is tremendous potential for this market.

In November 2012, Taiwan became a part of the U.S. Visa Waiver Program which makes visiting the U.S. and the Hawaiian Islands an easier process for Taiwanese visitors. Soon after, both China and Hawaiian Airlines announced that they would offer nonstop service from Honolulu to Taipei beginning in June and July 2013, respectively.

Play, Swim and Splash in Support of VASH
Take advantage of the summer sunshine and bring the kids down to Sea Life Park for Family Fun Day in support of the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH).  On Saturday, June 29, enjoy half off admission from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. which includes access to all park grounds, exhibits and shows including The Dolphin Cove Show, Hawaiian Shark Tank, The Kolohe Kai Sea Lion, Adventure Kids Play Zone and more. For an additional fee, the park offers other programs including Dolphin Royal Swim, Swim with Sharks, Sea Lion Swim and other exciting adventures. A portion of the proceeds from Family Fun Day will benefit VASH.

HTA recognizes the use of the 'okina ['] or glottal stop, one of the eight consonants of the (modern) Hawaiian language; and the kahakō[ā] or macron (e.g., in place names of  Hawai'i such as Lāna'i).  However, HTA respects the individual use of these markings for names of organizations and businesses.  Due to technological limitations, this current communication may not include all Hawaiian diacritical markings.
