Upcoming Lectures at the Center: Jane Brody, Paula Gianturco
The Center will sponsor two lectures in March 2013. Author and Personal Health columnist for The New York Times Jane Brody will give the latest in the Center's Distinguished Lecture Series: "How to Live Long and Enjoy Life -- and Exit it Gracefully;" and Paula Gianturco, author and photographer will give a lecture titled "Grandmother Power: A Global Phenomenon" co-sponsored with The Clayman Institute on Women and Gender.

The U.S. Is Aging Faster Than Anticipated
"Although the latest census forecast still says the number of Americans 65 and older will double over the next 30 years to 80 million, the government now believes the under-65 crowd will grow more slowly than estimated four years ago," writes Adele Hayutin, Senior Research Scholar and Director of Demographic Analysis at the Center on Longevity.

New Study Finds Link between Alzheimer’s Gene, Aging, and Hormone Therapy
A study just published in the journal Plos One and co-authored by Faculty Affiliate Dr. Natalie Rasgon has identified a tentative link between a gene linked with Alzheimer’s risk and cellular aging in women. The study also finds that hormone replacement therapy may alter this relationship if given just prior to menopause.
