Bill Samuels Jr., Chairman Emeritus of Maker's Mark distillery, was the featured speaker at the Kyndle Small Business of the Year Awards breakfast, on Dec. 11 at Henderson Country Club.
Samuels was president of Maker's Mark for 35 years and led the bourbon brand's ascension into one of the most iconic and popular Kentucky-made products in the world.
Bill Samuels also sits on the board of LIFT Kentucky, an advocacy group formed to push for the adoption of the local option sales tax in the state.

Christmas is approaching, and the Salvation Army of Henderson is in critical need of volunteer bell ringers.
If you and a friend, family member, co-worker or fellow church member can volunteer two or more hours to ring, kindly contact Salvation Army board member Wayne Jenkins at 270-826-8630. Normal shifts are 8-10 a.m., 10 a.m.-noon, noon-2 p.m., 2-4 p.m., 4-6 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
