Kyndle Accepting Nominations for Council Service
|
Kyndle is now accepting nominations for new members for its Economic Development Council and Commerce Council.
Persons interested in nominating themselves should email their names, work positions and a paragraph explaining why they are interested in serving on either council to Info@Kyndle.us by 9 a.m. on Nov. 17.
Nominees must be Kyndle stakeholders or an employee of a Kyndle stakeholder. Council members serve three-year terms.

Small Business of the Year Awards will be given in two categories: businesses with 10 or fewer employees and businesses with 11 to 50 employees. Among the criteria used to select the winners will be the nominees' business acumen, innovation, employee empowerment, civic involvement and charitable stewardship.
You can nominate a Henderson County small business in either category by filling out the nomination form, found here, at the Kyndle offices or at participating downtown Henderson banking locations.
Completed forms can be emailed to Kyndle at Info@Kyndle.us, dropped off at the Kyndle Offices located at 145 N. Main St. Suite 500, Henderson, KY 42420 or mailed to P.O. Box 674, Henderson, KY 42419.

Kyndle's next Brown Bag Lunch is part of a week long celebration known as Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Representatives from Kentucky Innovation Network, the Murray State Small Business Development Center, Community Ventures Corporation, the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) and Kyndle will all be present to share expertise and answer questions about the entrepreneurship process and resources available in the area. Also in attendance will be AJ Casey, winner of this year's Kyndle Fire Pit Pitch Contest.
This free to Kyndle Stakeholders meeting will take place in the Kyndle training room located in the Kyndle offices at 145 N. Main Street, Suite 500, in downtown Henderson. Guests are asked to enter through the 2nd street entrance and to take the elevator to the 5th floor.
A J&B Barbecue lunch will be provided to the first thirty attendees to RSVP in advance of the seminar. If you are unable to RSVP please be sure to bring your own lunch as food supplies are limited. Interested parties may RSVP by emailing Info@Kyndle.us or by calling Kyndle at 270.826.7505.

Mums by MCHS FFA
The MCHS FFA has mums for sale in the greenhouse at the school. Mums are $8, and the greenhouse is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Turkey Trot
The annual Turkey Trot by Calhoun Chiropractic will be Nov. 15. It starts at 8:30 a.m. at Calhoun Elementary School. You can pick up a registration form at the Calhoun Chiropractic office, First Security Bank, A Hair Salon or Sacramento Deposit Bank. You can also call the office at 270-273-5122, and we will fax you one. There will be a trophy for fastest runner and fastest walker. Also, there will be an award for under 14 runner. We always have lots of door prizes to give away after the race. Come join the fun in helping with the Christmas for Kids.
Harvest Breakfast
The breakfast is set for Nov. 25 at 7 a.m. at Buck Creek Baptist Church.
The McLean County Chamber of Commerce and the Cooperative Extension Agency are collaborating for a new event called the Harvest Breakfast.
According to Chamber President Michael Hunt, the breakfast is to "celebrate the end of another growing season."
The public is invited but anyone who wishes to attend is being asked to RSVP by calling the Chamber office at 270-273-9760 or the Extension Office at (270) 273-3690 by Nov. 20.

The Doctor of Education in P20 and Community Leadership program at Murray State University holding information session on Monday, December 8 in the Sullivan Center, room 311, on the campus of Henderson Community College. Parking can be found at the back of the Sullivan Building. Take the elevator in the lobby to the 3rd floor.
Program director, Randy Wilson, will provide information about the program and how to submit an application for admission into the 2015 cohort. The cohort will begin coursework in August of 2015.
