Brown bag lunch at Kyndle ready to inform, enlighten and entertain

About the show

KyndleTV is a new monthly television show produced by WEHT/WTVW in partnership with the Kentucky Network for Development, Leadership and Engagement. It will air the first weekend of every month; on Saturday on WEHT-Ch. 25 and on Sunday on WTVW-Ch. 7. It will be shown at 6:30 p.m. both nights. KyndleTV will include profiles of area businesses, information about points of interest in the region, a calendar of upcoming events and perspectives from the show's host, Kyndle CEO Brad Schneider.

Kyndle is turning to members of the community for ideas about content for its new television program,  KyndleTV, at a Brown Bag Series luncheon scheduled for noon on Monday.

Kyndle, in partnership WEHT/WTVW, has developed the television program, which is currently scheduled to air once a month on both WEHT and WTVW. KyndleTV is designed to highlight area businesses, places, activities and offerings which make McLean, Henderson, Union and Webster counties unique.

"We want KyndleTV to reflect what's so special about our region," Kyndle CEO Brad Schneider said. "We hope this program becomes a long-term project, so we need input from local folks about the stories they'd like to see. That feedback will help us keep the show entertaining and informative."

Kyndle invites stakeholders to attend a the lunch, which will be held at the Kyndle office in the Soaper Building, 145 N. Main Street, Suite 500, in downtown Henderson.

The Brown Bag will be hosted by Kyndle CEO Brad Schneider, who hosts and narrates the KyndleTV show. Andrew Morris from WEHT/WTVW will share video clips from the latest episodes of KyndleTV. Schneider and Morris want to hear from stakeholders about what local businesses and treasures should be featured on the program. They will speak about the many opportunities businesses have to get further involved with the production and will also be available to answer questions.

Patrons can bring their own lunch or contact the Kyndle office to have a lunch arranged for them. To RSVP or for more information,  contact Kyndle at [email protected]  or  (270) 826 7505.

Join us at the Kyndle office on the fifth floor of the Soaper Building in downtown Henderson on Monday, Feb. 10, from noon to 1 p.m. for a Brown Bag Series lunch to discuss the show. We want to hear your ideas about topics for the show, businesses to spotlight and more.

Residents of Kyndle counties who'd like a ride up to West Kentucky Thank You Night and back the same day can call (270) 826-7505 or email [email protected] and reserve a seat on a van that will leave downtown Henderson at 1 p.m. on Feb. 11. The cost is free for Kyndle Stakeholders, $10 for non-members. The van will leave from the Big Rivers Parking lot at the corner of Water and Third streets, where participants can park.

AgBreakfast2014
The nomination period for Kyndle's 2014 Henderson County Agriculture Awards is now open.

Nominations are being accepted through noon on Feb. 26 for Henderson County Agriculturalist of the Year and Lifetime Achievement in Agriculture. The winners will be announced at Kyndle's 2014 Agriculture Appreciation Breakfast, set for 7:15 a.m. on March 6 at the Henderson Fine Arts Center.

The breakfast's featured speaker will be Dr. Nancy Cox, the new Dean of Agriculture at the University of Kentucky. She is the first woman to hold that post. She represents the College on most Kentucky agricultural commodity boards and is on the executive board of the Kentucky Clean Fuels Coalition. She is responsible for current planning efforts for an Equine Institute and a Food Systems Innovation Center at UK, and she is serving as interim executive director of the Gluck Equine Research Foundation. In 2007 she was named to the National Advisory Board for Research, Extension and Economics; this board advises the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture on research priorities.

Sam Ball will once again MC the popular breakfast, which has seen standing-room-only crowds each of the last four years.

COST

The cost to attend the event is just 88 cents, symbolic of the small profit a farmer would make on the food on a typical breakfast plate. Golden Corral will once again cater the meal.

RESERVATIONS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED

The reservation deadline is close of business on Tuesday, March 4.

Due to the immense popularity of this event, patrons who come to the breakfast without a reservation cannot be guaranteed breakfast or a seat at a table. Theater seating will be available to those without RSVP. For more information or to RSVP, contact Kyndle at  [email protected] or (270) 826-7505.
