Labor Law Posters for Sale

The Henderson-Henderson County Chamber has partnered with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives to offer mandatory Kentucky and federal labor law posters at a discounted rate through the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.

Kentucky employers with one or more employees are required to post a variety of notices that must meet certain requirements and knowing which labor law posters to display can often be a time consuming and frustrating task for many employers.

Help us Welcome New Folks to Town!

Join The Chamber and Methodist Hospital in welcoming the new members of the Methodist Hospital medical staff to the Henderson community. The social event will be on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 5:30 p.m., at the home of Dr. Jennifer Lilies, 612 North Main St., near Downtown Henderson.  
Chamber TV show!
 
The Henderson-Henderson County Chamber of Commerce will team with WEHT/WTVW to air a monthly 30-minute  television program focused on our community and its businesses. The shows will air the first Saturday of every month at 6:30 p.m. on WEHT 25 Local and on WTVW Local 7 the following Sunday, also at 6:30 p.m. The first program is scheduled for Dec. 7. Weaver, Dalton & Associates will celebrate Mark Weaver's 30 years of serving clients with an open house today from 3 - 6 p.m. Enjoy refreshments as you meet the staff and tour the newly remodeled office designed for an exceptional client experience. The office is located at 238 Second Street, in downtown Henderson.   

 

The Volunteer and Information Center is sponsoring "The Taste of Downtown Henderson" on Monday, Dec. 2, from 4:30 - 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at the Volunteer and Information Center office at 125 First St. in Henderson. Tickets include samples from Rookies Sports Bar, CKB, Delizio Italian Eatery, Bagelrama, Rockhouse at Wolfs and Major Munch.

 

OVAL, Ohio Valley Art League presents the third annual Christmas Card Competition Exhibit through January 15, 2014 at the OVAL gallery. Area Artists entered artworks of winter scenes or with a holiday theme to be displayed.

 

Matthew 25 Aids Services are having their Holiday Jingle Mingle Shopping Bash on Dec. 6 from 5 - 9 p.m.m. in the new event room at Rookies Restaurant in Henderson. Attendees will have a chance to view items for sale from local boutiques and stores. Tickets are $20 and includes appetizers, a jingle mingle cocktail, and a raffle ticket to win the latest Apple Ipad. Henderson Habitat for Humanity will present its third annual fundraiser featuring an Owensboro Symphony Orchestra's Holiday Pops concert on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Henderson Fine Arts Center. The Holy Name School Children's Choir will perform before the concert at 7 p.m. The guest vocalist will be Ben Utecht, a former Indianapolis Colts player. All proceeds support Henderson Habitat's mission of reducing substandard housing in the Henderson area by financing and building a home for a local family. Info: 1-800-648-3128

 

Blue Moon Stables will host "Christmas on The Farm" with food, family, animals, vendors, arts and crafts, and horses! The event is Saturday, Dec. 14, from noon to 6 p.m. Blue Moon is located at 8124 St. Rt. 268 in Corydon, Ky.   

 

The Career and Technical Education Unit at Henderson County High School is hosting a business fair/open house on Thursday, Dec. 5 during the school day. Local firms are invited to come and set up booths with brochures/flyers about their business and allow students to get insight on what employers in Henderson are looking for in future employees. The Henderson Lions Club is preparing for its annual Television Auction February 10-22. Lions are asking for merchandise or cash donations to support this great cause. Contact Gary Cunningham at gmc7@insightbb.com for more information.

Audubon State Park is hosting the "Reindeer Run 5k" on Dec. 14 at 8:30 a.m. Registration forms can be downloaded here, and registration before Dec. 5 is $25 for the run, $20 for the walk. This 5k will not be a trail run; it will be on paved surfaces throughout the park.  Don't miss out on this festive fitness opportunity!
